Thanks guys.

The yellow plates will definitely stay, as much as I love my cars having GP plates in CPT to upset people, it's just not worth the change. Haha.

So.
After changing the title, everything got deleted from the thread. :rage:

So here is the story again....well a version of it because I don’t actually remember what all I said :roflol:

So for those of you that don’t know my origins, I started off with a little online forum called e30clubSA many many years ago which the led me to BMWFanatics later.

[Snip] [Snip]

Yeah, I remember.

UpNcRaWlInG! > UpNwAlKiNg! > UpNjOgGiNg! > UpNrUnNiNg! > UpNcOmiNg!

I may have added a name, or omitted one or even got the sequence wrong, but, I remember now!!

Exactly that guy! :roflol:
Geez, even I forgot about all those various names that were given me that time hey.

More pics will follow soon once I have laid a hand on the engine bay etc. It needs a good clean and detail, hopefully soon I will get around to that.

As I've already said to you, I love this car Devon!:blowheart:

It is a stunner in person because it is so original and neat. I think you can either keep it super stock or start modifying, the decision is yours. I would probably just make this thing OEM+ and stop, but that is just me.

Can't wait for the updates!:cartel:

Nice one this car is very clean for its age! :praise: I would do a full suspension upgrade on this car as they are very sloshy around corners and besides a nice drop would look good.

Will you be keeping it Auto or any plans on doing a manual conversion?

I was driving her last week and I can feel I need to at very least do a suspension refresh.

If I upgrade the suspension then it will be a full 5 lug replacement with M3 and Z3 parts and then a lowering kit or coilies.
But like Avi said, this car is so clean and neat, it will be a shame to do too much to it, hence me thinking just keep it as stock as she is bar one or three mods to make it OEM+ including a decent drop.

But first it will be to refresh everything and service it properly.

And a full detail including underneath.
I want to put in about 40-50 hours into detailing this car still. It needs it desperately.

Wow, amazing.

How does one go about to make rims / wheel cap covers that mirror one's face as you did? Please advise, thanks and regards.

That interior looks flawless...

I know this is a big ask...but keep it as it is, you dont ever see them unmolested or abused like this!

This is exactly the problem!
The car is so incredibly clean and original so I want to keep it just like this in terms of its originality but at the same time there are things that I would like to just make my own too :smilebounce:

Hey buddy yeah we had strokers those days on the e30forum... just drop it, rims and a sweet freeflow otherwise leave it stock... although a Manual conversion might make even more sweeter to drive... Congrats on a gorgeous purchase!!

My man!
Damn! Been forever!
Do you still have an e30?
Your stroker was a beast! :inlove:

As you say, a simple manual conversion will add that bit extra for driving enjoyment. The slosh box on this thing is nothing sexy at all.
At least a manual will make it feel that much better.

Heya... yeah its been too long funny I never bumped into yet in CT are you still here?

Yes got me a stock 87 325i :)

Manual box will make it worlds apart and the 320i in my opinion is one of the nicest sounding m20 motors ever.

Awesome man.

Couldn't agree with you more! The m20 sounds glorious still! :inlove:

Beautiful example of an E30

I also say OEM+ and that's it.

By the way I did the iS suspension swop. Crazy expensive
but so much worth it. The selection on 5x120 wheels is much more then
4x100.

all the best.

Watkyn Larnie.

Have you perhaps got a link or something to these kits?

I am still debating this whole 5 lug conversion. It will make wheels easier to procure, but with keeping the car OEM+, I won't need additional stopping power etc so the 4 hole will suffice, but it needs a full refresh in any case, at what cost I am not sure.
Also the 4*100 BBS style 5 is quite a rarity but not impossible to find, and that's the only wheel I'll be putting on I reckon.

The debate continues.

In the meantime, managed a minor service over the weekend with a quick engine bay wipedown.
Still yet to clean properly though.
Will upload pics soon.

Products used for service;
Motul X-Power 8100
Wix fuel filter
Wix oil filter
GUD air filter.

In all honestly, I would prefer to use all GUD for the next service although wix had a good track history, I just prefer GUD stuff.

Also flushed the engine with 4l of diesel and 0,5l of fresh oil before draining the engine and filling with above oil.
Diesel came out looking rather nasty so I assume it loosened up some decent gunk and sludge.

I still need to do the cambelt service (never done one of these before so tips welcome, and fanbelt as well)

I’ll hopefully be ordering some new parts including the new bonnet insulation within the month.
Cannot wait :inlove:
