well it must be going well as chris has posted anything, must be still driving:roflol:

Colin if he is driving he is not in the M as it is still with me.
We need 2 gaskets(8&9 http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E46-Co...tor_frame/) for the PS oil cooler to finalise assembly.

As I said previously the build has had no shortcuts or half measures to it.

He will drive it away Monday night after we install the radiator and oil cooler.

Alexander is downloading pics right now and I will post a little later.

Only started her last night to make sure she turns over... Which she does.

She lives... just waiting for those two bracket/Gaskets to hold the radiator. Part 8 & 9.

Here some pics of the engine going in and subsequent assembly.

Pressure plate went to Savspeed to be depressed reset (Legacy&Sankekeur thank you for the pointer had you not told me we would be doing a gearbox pull)

Engine bay was cleaned and tidied up

Complete assembly ready to get hooked on hoist.

Notice how motor is tilted a bit to the right so as to clear steering shaft and exhaust manifold bends.
The s50 MCoupe taught us humility at the very least.

Man in blue overalls interfering.

I have worked so long with my son in the garage where we now do things instinctively and do not get into each others way.

Man in blue overalls has placed the motor on its mountings.
As previously stated roughly a 90 minute job from start to finish.

Nothing underneath has been attached or secured so we still need to get underneath and do gearshift linkage gearbox mounting propshaft etc.

This is what a R1000 looks like.

No shortcuts.

Notice the brown layer of rust in the pipes.

Your engine can also look like that if you do not use BMW antifreeze and distilled water.

Looks amazing, have seen that engine a couple of times when visiting and have to say it's a beautiful machine, especially after the the work done. I literally stood there looking for signs that it's not a new engine because it looked brand new.

Just want to hear that engine started now

So guys the car is actually up and running as well as supercharged, but chris is keeping this from us. I managed to take a quick pic while he was not looking :fencelook:

I am glad to report that Crash is on his way home with a rather raspy sounding machine.

4K max Mr Crash and check water and oil on a daily basis.

Pics tomorrow as well as video
