Congrats to Peter on what should be a very successful rebuild!

The car will be run in for probably 2000 km so videos will be useless. Personally I would drive to DBN for no reason :)

We started the engine last nigh at about 10:30.
Took on the second attempt after we introduced fuel into the fuel tank........amazing stuff "fuel" I am most impressed with it.

The assembly of the engine peripherals and engine bay has been by far the most challenging of this build as we were dealing with a whole lot of neglect(missing clips, wrong bolts and nuts, stripped threads from previous assemblies, etc).

Every single wire and vacuum hose have been correctly routed.
Every single clip and harness retainer have been installed in the appropriate location as intended by the designers.

This has been our first e46 M3 rebuild and by comparison to the s50B32 motors it was child's play as the design has been cleaned up and simplified whilst producing more power. The cylinder head is a masterpiece of Teutonic efficiency and minimalism.

Amazing BMW!

We must also congratulate Chris for his resolve to spend the money and get the required parts expeditiously and his partner in crime who devoted a fair amount of her time listening to "boy talk" whilst Jezebel was being messed with.....

In closing I equally wish to make it known to all the followers of this build that the promised manicurist never materialised and that my legal team will be taking it further with the producers.

p.s. The wardrobe department also sucks as does make up.

part of the design brief for the e46 was to make it easier to work on than the e36 this was done to minimise workshop time  proof that BWM built these to last and be maintained...
