Corsa C Ute - Another Toy Story

The engine lights are on because the standard ECU is still running in the Ute, along with the Spitronics management system.

Spitronics only controls fueling, boost and spark. The standard ECU controls everything else still like warning lights, power steering etc. All those warning lights are saying now is that there are "problems" with the spark and fueling.

The Ute weights 1230kg. Had it weighed on a weighbridge about a month ago.

Right, time for another update.

Unfortunately my Ute saw the brunt of the 1st big hailstorm we had on the East Rand in October last year. I ended up running around looking for some of the parts, and thankfully got the windscreen sorted before the huge rush of demand kicked in.

Then I must also sent a shout out to Leonard at Dent Doctor Boksburg - for helping me out in the crazy, silly season which was December 2012. Much appreciated! My Ute is not looking as sorry as it was beforehand. Still a few minor things which need to be sorted out, but that will happen in good time.

Following on from that, the Ute has developed a nasty smoking habit, which no amount of nicotene patches can remedy. :argh: Initial diagnosis seems to indicate that the motor itself is still fine. However I suspect my turbocharger wants to go on pension ASAP.

So... I've been doing some researching, and also some purchasing . Some stuff is coming from the UK, and some stuff from the USA. We'll wait and see which shipment arrives first.

Stay tuned for more updates....

Unfortunately not the hybrid turbo, can't justify the cost, and I'm sceptical about the manifold being able to cope with those additional stresses.
