Boosted E30 325i Thread

So gents a bit of progress, going to upgrade the small T4 for a GT35 ballbearing turbo.

Going for forged rods and pistons as well to hold the planned 1.5 bar of boost, will also have ARP studs.

Water jackets are being welded to create a better seat for the headgasket.

Also looking at a 150hp NOS system that will be installed along with the water/meth system.

Aeromotive fuel pumps will deliver the fuel to 1000cc injectors and a custom fuel rail and D1spec adjustable FPR.

Should do this to an E92 M3 comfortably when finished.

why the N20 cant you boost higher to get enough out the engine?

The gas will just be a small added benefit if the car is falling behind in a race, doubt i will use it often at all. Also at 1.2- 1.5 bar the M20 is giving about all it can.

All it really has to do in its life is beat a modded E92 M3 to 800m.

Going to run a 6 speed box with a relatively short ratio diff to ensure that it suits the 800m perfectly.

i would build it without the N2O for now and see what the performance is like...

you will probably get more out of maximizing your launches than more power at this level...

Motor is officialy built. All rotating parts balanced, every Level 7 Motorsport trick in the book has been applied to this motor so we are expecting decent HP as well as supreme reliability.

In the end I opted for a reliable turbo motor over a huge HP unit. Aiming for early 200wkw range for this old lady.

Body has been dropped at the panel beaters for some rust repair and a custom engine bay spray job...should look mental all round with a firehouse red and white combo all over.

Progress was slowed while I was changing jobs and collecting funds but it seems we are back on track!

Shaun and LEVEL 7 FTW!!:ty::bravo:

Hey Rhett,

Im following this thread bud, So i see you opted for forged internals...Have they been fitted? Or have u kept the original setup?

Regarding the head, with the block being o-ringed, would it be necessary to weld up the ports to better spread the boost loading on the head?

Keep it up, hope to hear it soon!

Wassup Jay,

Ya i didnt go forged I kept the stuff you gave me all just took it all for shot peening, balancing and blue printing.

I am going to put faith in all OEM bits for the time being- OEM bolts OEM gaskets etc. Only thing that done as you know is the O ringed block.

Im going to rely on good tuning, water meth, big injectors and decent fuelling.

Also we are not looking for huge boost either 0.6-0.8 with water meth.
