Well dyno didn't go well. A coil died so the car had a bad misfire and then the big shit hit. The turbo oil feed that was tested and pumping oil got obstructed. No one knows how or why but even with the fitting taken off the block no oil comes out. Extremely strange.

So she didn't get dyno'd in the end and was towed home. The car didn't run very long without oil so we are hoping she isn't in too bad a way. We are going to blank the tapped block and just use the usual T piece in the oil switch.

Freak occurrence but hey, this car has given us some freak problems!!!:nonono:

Sorry to hear Rhett however as with all mods sometimes inexplicable things happen which defy both logic and reason.

Hope no damage and running soon.

That sucks balls man. Such a terrible feeling after so much work. Also hoping the damage is minor and that you can get her running with minimal troubles.

Update!

She is home for the holiday's. Picked her up from Shaun last weekend and drove her home and she didn't miss a beat. She sounds truly demonic, splutters bangs whistles and the. The familiar tssssss.

I have plenty work to do on the car itself, she is a tired old lady, windows don't work, she needs a good polish, interior must be done etc etc. All in good time.

A huge thanks must go out first to Shaun at LEVEL7. I dropped off a rubbish e30, told him I had a shoestring budget and then supplied mostly 2nd hand parts and he still managed to build me a gorgeous e30 turbo.

Then to SDP, Ivan2terrible, Lano325, weener69, jits and many more forumites that have offered me advice, tech support and dealt with my 1 million questions (SDP in particular), THANK YOU!

Merry Christmas all and thank you for following my build in 2013!

Update:

Things are going well with the ol e30, done about 250kms with it thus far of run in mileage.

Had a few scares with her, throttle jammed wide open while driving found it to be a tiny burr inside the TB near the butterfly. Crazy how small a buff can jam the throttle, tiny tolerances.

Car also sprung an oil leak about a week after I got her back and then the oil light came on. As Jeremy Clarkson would say "poo came out":roflol:.

Turned out to be a out the box failure of the oil pressure switch, it was leaking oil out the inside of the switch and the oil had caused the switch to earth and put the oil light on- I almost cried with joy when I replaced it and the light went off!

She sounds like a total and complete demon! When the waste gate opens down the screamer pipe people on the roadside actually cower away, pretty funny.

She battles to start when hot and lately at all but that is purely a tune issue, she should see dyno late this month!

PS- have done 248kms and ran out of fuel this afternoon, I out R900 fuel in. Let that sink in a little! And this is run in rpm- under 4000rpm.

Hey Rhett,

Great to hear that its breathing fire again.....

The fuel.....well, its probably overfuelling a bit...but it will be worth the fuel you pump thru her!!!! For sure!!!!!

Keep us updated!!!
