BMW M2 vs New Audi RS3 - Drag Race

Feel bad for all those who got the 270kw only to then see a substantially improved 294kw version. M2 still looks boss on the road.

Typically a sedan of similar body style like the 2 RS3 derivitaves the sadan will be a little bit faster in acceleration and top speed due to better airflow over the rear of the car. Hatch back cars have a small amount of turbulent air flow over the hatch that creates extra drag.

Anyway I would take the M2. Matters not to me that the audi is faster. Now if the RS3 sadan was a coupe? The choice would have been harder...

Bottom line is the RS3 sedan will run train lengths away from the M2 in a straight line, we all adults here let's accept that and move along. If it was a timed lap the M2 will probably take it. Both Fantastic cars each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

Agreed.
There is some confusion between the 270 and the 294 kw RS3, the latter is a significantly better performing vehicle.
On a drag basis, it easily competes with a higher powered M3/4 - the M3/4 will only have its ways on the top end (very top.... +200 top).

There is also nothing wrong in cars being released with enhanced performance - a car enthusiast ought to welcome that especially M2 fans.
Be it facelift or LCI or whatever you wanna call it, that is the name of the game...

Agreed.
I managed somewhere in the 9s for my 100-200 time.
According to this thread, the Audi is right there.

Insanely impressive car that, and I personally think it has a much better sound track compared to the M2.

RS3 sounds awesome. Goes like stink in a straight line and has one of the best interiors in the price bracket.

And even tho its so fast, I'd still pick M2. Every. Single. Time.

What are you trying to say?

FYI I have an M2

I have raced a 275kW RS3 and won convincingly.

I have also raced a 295kW and lost.

I’ve rode in both and will still choose my M2.

They are awesome cars but boring imho.

@M3turbo - if you doubt my opinion disregard it. It’s still my opinion.

Goodnight

Nothing personal Dude!
Expressing opinions both ways and I do think that other peoples opinions enlarge the way we see the world.

I was merely asking the question of whether its blind/brand loyalty?
You did say it sounds great, is quick and has a great interior...
Looks wise I prefer the M2, i just wish that it had newer technology like an updated B58 setup...

Glad you enjoying your car - Safe driving.
