Wow! What a build!

Sorry it has been such a money pit, but hopefully it will reward you once its running properly.

What was wrong with the head in the end? I don't see anything obvious.

I think the valve stems are stuffed, I sent the head up to JHB and I went over to the USA on business, I didn't followup when I got back everything was crazy with the CONVID 19 crap.

if you look at cylinder 5 valves you can see a slight difference in the intake valve color,

I don't have a pic but the inside of the inlet port was also wetter with oil than the rest.

yes, a lot of work needs to be done on the suspension, LSD and some proper seats
Ah ok nothing too serious then! Happy to hear that.

Keep up the great work. Really nice to see a build that goes beyond the normal stuff.

Any plans for a LSD?

I ordered a few things from VVT but missed the delivery while I was in the USA, one thing I can say is the owner is not very friendly, I battled for a few weeks to get him to ship the complete order to the address I was going to.

we had to urgently fly back because of the COVID 19 so the stuff is still over there.

some pics from his website, with the VC I will get a lot of fittings, the main goal here is to make sure I don't have problems with crankcase pressure, my target was 28psi on stock internals but now I will try for 30psi with forged pistons.

I ordered a smooth gloss black VC

some pics of when I did some paint correction, I had to wet sand the roof, boot lid and bonnet. It turned out OK but not 100%

We stripped the motor down first week of March and the plan was to bring parts back from USA and then send for machining, well that is out the window with COVID-19.

the only thing that made it out was the head, that is up in JHB.

some pics of the engine:

I got most parts just a few remaining things to get, my biggest concern is the Crankhub

Has anyone had any experience with modifying/pinning the crankhub?

I have been looking and have found a few aftermarket ones but wow they are pricey and with ROE today it is crazy to buy, ranging from $699 to $1999

N54 didn't have any crank hub issues from my knowledge, only the S55's.

Also, if you are looking for a kit, Rennzport has had a kit put together for a long time, but again, quite sure it's S55 only.

Hi,

thanks for your reply, N54's have lots of problems with Crankhub spinning when you go big on power hence all the aftermarket options.

thanks for the info on Rennzport will defiantly contact them.

thank you
