Best mag wheel cleaner

Guys, okay, my dad had Brasso and I tried it. It got rid of all the dirt that I thought was itched in the metal ! After I applied a little and rubbed hard, it took away all the dirt and the rims look like new now. So I'm wondering why this hasn't been recommended. Is it good, bad or dangerous for the rims ? I've only used it once so if you guys think it's a big no-no then I'll try a proper mag cleaner next time. Still couldn't believe the results after I used it.

Brasso is a heavy polish not designed for paint. The paint on the wheels wont look too good if you do that often.

Are you for real, why ask for information and then turn around and go and do something completely different. If you knew you were not going to listen to our advice in the first place, why waist our time.

Please post a pic of your rims, so we can see what rims you have !

First, why don't you calm down ? I haven't dismissed anything that anyone has said. I simply had Brasso lying around and I was told to use it, so I did. To my surprise, it got rid of the marks and dirt that I thought could not be removed so I decided to post here and let you all know. I then wanted to know if there would be any side effects.

This is a place for asking questions. This is NOT a military camp. I simply had an alternative option and I decided to try it, so I did. I don't know where you get off assuming that I have ignored the advice here but it's completely out of line.

@Olorin how old are you ? (see you are a harry potter fan)

FYI i am always calm (Only a few things get under my skin and I am sure you do not drive a Taxi :) ), If you ask for info you will get it.

If the brasso destroyed the paint on your rims, would your next thread have been, "How do you repair paint damage to a Rim ?"

And still no pics of the rims, so we still do no know what we are working with !

If you think I was out of line, is that not a guilty conscience speaking ?

I'm curious why age is now relevant because you think I am a Harry Potter fan (I'm not). Olorin has nothing to do with Harry Potter. So you are wrong on both counts. If I thought you were out of line it's because, I don't know, I am capable of independent thought perhaps ? Throwing a hissy fit because I simply never followed the advice here on your watch is more than a little immature. Did I say that I would not follow the advice ? Did I not say thank you for the advice ? Your contributions so far have not been particularly helpful. You made a bunch of silly assumptions so far. Can I expect more silly assumptions from you ?

@Olorin you are really touchy today (Please tell us about it ... NOT).

BTW :
1. There is a difference between Independent thought, and rational independent thought :)

2. If my meagre contribution has not been helpful at all, please do not follow it, I will not mind at all !

3. In summation I believe assumptions, are the mother of all F.UPS

4. And still no pictures of the rims in question !

Don't confuse Gandalf the Grey with Harry Potter now. The Dark Lord of Mordor will come and visit you..:)

After Gandalf the Grey died, he was polished with Silvo and became Gandalf the White.

Brasso is for, well Brass.

@Coisman:
As you are so into sex wax, are you planning on becoming the next Silver Surfer.

I heard somewhere that if you pee on your rims just after you've driven the car hard,
then the rims will wash extra clean and shine for months... :mmm:
