made sense when it was something an ordinary person could buy and take on the world while looking after their family. A person who can afford this thing has multiple cars for sure.

Either way with the way things are going (regular M deleted and Competition being the default) it is only a matter of time before competition is deleted and you can only buy the CS.

I am sure many fanatics are going to make me feel poor again by commenting about what great value it is going to be (given M2 CS pricing it will be absolutely astronomical)

Amazing car, I suspect a price tag of around the R4 million mark, why ANYONE would spend R4 bar on a BMW is beyond me

Agree with many of you. The price tag on these won't make much sense, and it also asks the question why would you want to lose the comforts of the m5 and m5 competition by choosing the CS variant.

The luxury mixed with the performance in the other 2 variants are what make the m5 such a great package.

But I also think we need to realize the dynamics of most of the car manufacturers in this space. They all have track focused variants of many of their models. Yes we may question the price tag vs getting a Porsche or something but BMW knows its created a market and has customers who love their cars enough who will buy an M5 CS to add to their collection.

In no way is this a competitor to a track focused Porsche or the likes, even though many will make the comparison merely on price, but it really is astounding to see how BMW can procude a vehicle of this size that can be thrown around a track.

Now it's a strict 2 seater that costs near as much as a ferrari? At some point everyone has to step back and start saying "why"... before they keep saying "why not"
