Just had this sent to me.
Friend of mine that builds AC Cobra's in Randburg is busy with a 850i for someone. Its a two tone request, black on top and orange below. Only had the first orange coat on today. Not sure what it will look like when finished but its an interesting idea!
Could look great or terrible when done!

Orange & Black on an 850i! Well, it is the owner's choice.

But the 850i was never a sports car! BMW called it a luxury grand tourer. A midnight blue, sapphire black or silver would be great.

Would love to see the outcome! What a car!

Acid reflux.

Sacrilege in my opinion, but keep us posted. Maybe it'll change our mind or us his. Hopefully the latter will prevail

Do me a favour though, tell him I have the exact rims, just with the polished lip and would like to swap with him
I want his 1s! Like really.

I lost interest when I read "Its a two tone request, black on top and orange below"

:thumbdo: FAIL. No matter how well done, you just don't do that to an 8-Series

It's going to look like that horrible E39 @ the Festival last month

Tend to agree with the comments so far... not something I would do to a 850i - seems sooo wrong, but will wait to see the end result. Will keep y'all up to date as I get pic's etc.

Will try and find out for you... no idea if they are changing rims - would seem stupid to leave these on with the pimp my ride paint job!

MMMM wouldnt do that to a 850..

But i better not comment too much as I am planning to do a smiliar job to a 2002, albeit its a donor for a full restore on another 2002 and I still want to use the rest of the car.
Dechrome, 318 motor, diffrent wheels etc.

:fencelook:

Everybody to their own.. like to see what it looks like when done.

Must agree would do a full strip down before any spray job, especially 2 tones and colour changes.

I'm all for individualism but that colour combo should have nothing to do with a 850.It could work on a American Hot Rod thou.
