Ok guys this is TOP SECRET:) 1000HP capable V12 Twin Turbo Z3. I wont open a new thread until the project is completed. Its about 95% done. There are also pics of an old setup with TT but thats in the past.. since then the engine is FULLY rebuilt with ALL the new reinforced/forged/coated/balanced goods, sleeved block, dry sump, ITB's, heads done, new cams, new heavy duty studs everywhere, E31 850i manual 6speed box and more.

<iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s1260.photobucket.com/user/z3v12tt/embed/slideshow/"></iframe>

Why?

Get an 850i and do it with that chassis as it is better set up and might actually be able to go around a corner. And would be epic with that power.

Or get an S54 Mcoupe and extract 1000hp from that in a chassis that will probably break appart but atleast the weight distribution would be better.

Have you actually checked the weight of the M70 out of interest? I will also have E34 rear subframe out of M5 or 540 and large case diff. I actually think the rear will be more heavy than nose!
How many S54's are out there with a 1000hp? A s**t load. And obviously it would be 2x cheaper.. because i have 2x more parts to buy. There are many 850's with a turbo'd and charged V12s in them (eg DINAN).. in SA obviously 850 is something rare but for a European guy like me its pretty much normality.
That body is also being reinforced.
Have you seen any other Z3 V12 anywhere apart from the BMW museum???

And there is probably a good reason for that

But I get your point. It will indeed be unique...

Out of interest, any reason for going with ITB's on a turbo build?

Ah man thats awesome...only one problem with it.... its not a diesel!!

I guess if you want to build something that is really slow instead of really fast you can put a diesel motor in it....

Yes, it adds up to the turbo response. And makes a completely different feeling to the pedal/large throttle area and also not so dangerous, minimizing risk of a stuck throttle under boost. Look the Lemans many cars run turbo+ITBs plus with big cams they help to separate the blow by into the intake manifold making a smooth idle.

I will post some more pics as soon as I swap 540i subframe in this week busy working on it.
The wheels in front are 10" wide. 245 rubber and coilovers.

BTW the Z3 (2.8) rear subframe is for SALE!!! Very wide track and 4.10 diff. Will be perfect for a wide body mod on E30. Anyone interested? This will make atleast 200mm wider track than standart. The diff is medium case.

There was a silver Z3 on the East Rand running an M70 about 6-7 years ago already....

That is exactly mine. I bought it 2-3 years ago it stood for long somewhere.. But the swap was so bad that the car was a bitch to drive.
I decided to redo the whole thing completely.. thank goodness the body is in a very good state. The rest is gutted and cut. Almost nothing, apart from block and crank is the same.
