I used to think that people were stupid to pay those prices for cars like that but then it got me thinking , Its no longer what the cars sold for , or what we think its worth , or what its depreciation value is . now determined by supply and demand ,
There isnt much of a supply for good quality original E30s around , so those who have these will demand higher prices . And the more people there are that want it the higher the prices will go .
If I had the money and a near mint one with low mileage came along , I would buy it .
These cars are no longer "Daily Drivers" So those buying them are basically buying a toy , collection piece , or living out their childhood dream. And if they have the money for it . They will pay for it . Which would only drive up the price even more. I have seen wealthy people pay more for a Vertu phone and or a watch then the cost of this car . So who knows he will probably get his asking price .
Although the Red IS in Durban was selling for less , had less mileage and was alot more original then this one . That Radio is from a benz.
