@ Netercol--- Trust me to have one of those that will chow the swirl flap. All i can do is to make the best of it as the car is in a very good condition.
@ Moranor -- Depending if a Taxi take me out or not, just joking. During the week I am ok as my wife pass my shop in the morning and just drop me here. Do not need transport during the day as i have a small one man business.
My A3 swallowed 2 swirlflaps once upon a time, the car was idling like it had a soar throat and drinking gas like crazy, they replaced the whole head with the strat injection, it ran like a beast afterwards.
Just speak to Clutchplate and he will even arrange to fetch my car in Fort Beaufort. He is able to help me this week, so if all goes well, I will know shortly what's the damage.
My car will be going to Clutchplate Friday or Monday. What i have done in the meantime is to remove the swirlflaps and block them using a small bolt and some epoxy to keep them there for ever.
Q-bond maybe? I would be more comfortable with just removing the plates from the spindles. That way everything remains intact except for the actual flaps.
