weird idling like a cam on ci

hi

had this problem maybe a year or so ago...didn't last very long...but out the blue...the car starts idling like there is a heavy cut cam or something in it...no warning lights come on....

my car was final allong and this morning it started it..im sure it will be fine later on...iit just went away last time..

any ideas on anything on its way out?

Sounds like a bad coil. They can be intermittent.

or it could be a wet s/plug had a simmiler issue before and found a wet s/plug the oil burns dry as soon as you start driving and found a damaged plaug one in my bros car?

My 330i sometimes does the same thing on start up when I dont drive it for a couple days...No idea what it could be...

Its the cars way of telling you its time for an ESS kit, and you need to do it asap.

On a more serious note, ya I agree its either coil or dead plug.

Any oil or water leaks ?

well this is one of two problems my e36 320i use to start and have lumpy idle but the min you start driving its fine and you have power and the car runs normal i use to think it was normal ie: cold start when you use the car it was fine.

my e34 had a dead plug ie: lumpy idle loss if power and it sounds like your only running on 3/4 cylenders kinde like a subaru in pull off and more like a tractor the faster you go.

so maybe a tad more diskription as to how your car reacts? ? ?

Go google ESS tuning, and you will note the funny, in short it is a rather large ashma pump for the Beemer

car wasn't better this morning..in fact it was actually 10 times worse...

it cut out thrice in traffic which is a first...and idling was very low...try restarting a steptronic in traffic ...a bit tricky...car has to engagded in park when started....so it from drive to park and then rester...

anyway went straight to a dude that i normally have it serviced by. he ran a diagnostic check and there is a misfire on cylinder 1 and cylinder 3...so he rest ecu...adn its fine now.....

but im going backafter work for a throrough check to see if he can spot anything
