Water leak with a difference

Good morning all,

We recently saw what Cape Town's wet winter could do to a BMW. A client said the rear footwell stays wet.

When we got the car, we found it was quite flooded. Here are some pics of before and after we removed the carpet.

Sometimes the shower curtains in the doors are torn or pull loose, allowing water to run into the car, instead of to the outside. There's also accident damage on the vehicle, so we are still investigating other possible causes.

For now,the high density foam is still drying... a week later. After we took out 15 liters of water.

This happened on my dad's e90 a few years back.

BMW dealership (motorplan) fixed a sticky right rear window and the water curtain got damaged in the process.

Water started leaking in, and when I took the car back, they asked me if the car was in an accident.

" No you crazy people. You did a crap job the last time round. Go check your jobcard."

Eish, some people.

Happened to me in my first car (Mazda 323 + Cone Filter)...

Thing that bothered me was that it wasnt raining or never did that week and it was in the rear flooring of the car...
