upping performance

Please advise what I can do to up the performance of m62 vanos v8 (2004 model) - gains must be low down without losing too much top end. Current claimed power is 210kW and 440 NM @ 3600 rpm. Also what is the difference between this output and the same motor with 236 kW.

No not without a turbo:rollsmile:

It depends on how much money you can spend, Unichip conversion, exhast system, induction system, total gain ± 30-40kw!?

Lets hear from the experienced guys.

Since you're posting in the X forum, can only assume you've got an X5. From what I've heard, the X5 motors usually make a bit less power than the same engines in other models as they are tuned a bit differently. I.e. they are tuned to improve low down power and torque as they are heavier cars to get going. Also top speeds on X models is usually lower (especially without the sports suspension), so outright power is not really crucial, although the newer models break that trend.
