The E36 M3 coupe also looks damn hot - even though its almost 20 years old, it still turns heads. :praise:

My turn to chip in....
Since this is a tribute thread to the E36 M3, here is my story:

The E36 M3 has always been my dream car, and being fortunate enough to obtain one, it still keeps its status as my dream car :)

Some people say, never own/drive your dream car, you will be dissapointed... This has never been the case for me......

Having owned it for just over 4 years now, i can positively say, it still puts a smile on my face, every time the engine bursts into life...

Similar to Technician, i still find myself admiring/starring the car, even to this day.
You do have to keep a level head when driving it, as Calypso pointed out.

What is the strangest thing with driving this car, is that people walking past, driving past, even on the highway, often make gestures of "Are you selling the car?" lol :)

My personal favourite features (visually):
- The seats
- The wheels
- "BMW M POWER" engraved on the valve train cover of the engine.
- The stance
- The side profile
- Tailpipes
- The red needles on the cluster, and the speedo marked to 280km/h
- Oil temperature gauge :)

What keeps it interesting, is that you need to concentrate to drive the car smoothly, somewhat of a challenge if you pride yourself on smooth gearshifts etc. The car is only used on weekends, so maybe thats a possible reason, in my case.....

That was my tribute, to the car that still remains, to be my dream car :)

To all those guys still wanting one, don't give up. I looked for 2 years before I purchased mine. It will be worth the wait. And good luck :)

I have never owned an M but allllllways had the utmost respect for this stunning car… Yes I can say I have raced a m3 –E36&E46 and e34 M5 and beat them (lol in a straight line over a 1.2km) but…dam, it was never a big win, always close and always had my window down to listen to those lovely “pure-All motor” sound…I get Goosebumps just thinking back. :sorry:

Back when I had a secret crush on M cars but gave every one the impression I hated them, and I got outa my Uno T, where I fought just to keep it on the road- It felt like the M was boring to drive with its long gearrrrrrsss… lol BUT then I grew up and learnt to drive her like crazy-gentleman lol (ya right) now I have moved over to the light from the dark…
M3- E36/46 or 540 will be my next sex-slave, my babe-wifey-darling I can r@pe and she’ll beg for more –again & again…errr I want I want I want…:praise::praise:

The first BMW I ever owned was an E36 M3 coupe Avus Blue...
Unfortunately I wrote it off in rainy weather on my way to work one morning :bawling:

I then replaced it with an E46 M3 which is an awesome car, but there has been too many occasions where I seriously considered selling my E46 for a E36 again... The connection I had between the car(e36) and I just cannot be replicated behind the wheel of my E46.

I will buy an Avus Blue German Spec as a weekend car again... :inlove:
