Thinking about F10 535d Sport...

Hey guys,

Like the thread topic says... What a car! Test drove the 'normal' one yesterday... Epic power and luxury.

I'm thinking about oredring the sport with the 19" wheels, in white or silver. Cant decide.

This means that the Dynamic will go as a trade in or up for sale.

Finance can be arranged with BMW Finance, including R50 000 trade in assist and a killer interest rate below prime for qualifying guys...

My asking price: R360 000 (If it goes to the dealer they'll put on the floor for R380 000.)

So you'll effectively be paying R310 000 for a 2010 Dynamic Edition 320d (135kw) with 24000km on the clock in prestine condition.

Let me know if you guys know of anyone who would be interested.

Thanks Ash!

Yes what a car. Ill be sad to see the Dynamic go... But I'm sure the 5 will make me smile even more.

There's a 3-6 month waiting list for the 5's depending on spec. So if the Dynamic sells before then I'll look at a decent e46 330d while I wait. Then keep the 330d, map decat etc and use her as my daily runner.

My brother has that 535d. Its totally insane.

The fuel consumption figure for the weight of the car and his driving style is mind blowing. he gets around 8.5l /100km and he does not even know who miss Daisy is.

There is ZERO turbo lag and all eight gears make you smile like a fool!

For me though, it feels like too much car, that and the fact that it wont fit into my garage helps that. if you touch the car anywhere with the key in your pocket it opens, try getting out of your garage when its as tight as mine. Every time I tried to get past the car it unlocked.

Not sure what you are looking at spending but his was around R790k brand new at the beginning of the year.

LCG,

Yes, what a car I agree. I was smilling all the way. Words fall short unless you have experienced it. The power is awesome! I was hoping that BMW would produce the 335d for SA but so far its not on the cards. Hence my choice in the 5'er.

The one I'm looking at is closer to the R900k mark with some extras. :fencelook:

Its a lot of money but this one will be a keeper for a LOOOOOONG time...

Business will pay for it obviously. :joy:

My very first thought when I drove the car was "This motor in a 3 series body would be the most perfect car ever made"

You really would need to keep it for at least four years to be able to break even on your next car I would imagine.

I really could not see the sense in it when my brother bought the thing. You are talking about pretty decent 4 -5 year old porsche money for that and not a POS boxster either, but having driven it, I understand, it a civilized monster!

I think.. the 535i is a better car, with better value for money...

100K difference in price.. you are never going to cover that in fuel over 5 years.. so that leaves you with 100k more to spend on extras or to modify it.. I do understand the 535d is faster, but the 535i sounds glorius and we all know with mods how they perform.. not saying the 535d doesnt perform with mods.. just think the 535i represents a better value proposition..

the F10 is an absolutely epic car!

If you keeping it stock, 535d

If you plan to mod, 535i

If I were buying a 5 series, and faced with this choice, I would go the 535d.

I still believe that once you test drive both cars, you will just know.

Good luck!
(sorry if you are one of those offended by good luck wishes)

+1

The 535d is epic IMO. No mods planned while under MP. I dont believe in spending that kind of money on a car and them modding it anyways - Thats just me and in no way ment to offend anyone who does this.

Ive grown used to the torque ontap in the Diesels, and the great fuel consumption is just a added bonus. Dont think Ill ever drive a petrol again, unless its a M of some sorts...

I also thought that a 3 series with a 3.5d motor would be epic, but alass, so far we are not destined to have it...
