Hi all.

Added a new upgrade this weekend! Been looking around for one of these for a while now and found one at a steal. Fitted it this weekend, was super easy to do. I will still get it painted gloss black as I have a little colour scheme in mind for the finished product overall. Still have to do the side skirt extensions, front lip and wana do something with the rims. Was gonna change to the 442's, then saw the 405 rims but now thinking of just doing my 403's in ferric grey. I'm kinda changing my mind on the rims as the weeks go by so will do that last. Hope you guys like - I know its nothing new but I think it looks awesome - I am super chuffed.

Update on my girl...

I took the diffuser in to be resprayed gloss black...looks flippen amazing, what a difference VS the matt finish. Then I also remove the exhaust tips, cleaned and polished them and put them back but not as far in as before as the new diffuser hid them a little. Getting there slowly but surely. The aim is to have it in final version end of June!

Hey all - so my steering wheel has really been bugging me lately and I think whole santizing hands and stickiness on the wheel finally I had too much - thus my post here - https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=93352

In the mean time I've managed the following results - following some solid advice:

This was the bowl after the first round of cleaning:

Second round of cleaning

The results which I think is pretty great considering the wheel is 5 years old. Must say though...pretty uuggg thinking now I've been holding on to that up to now  :roflol:

The wheel has some wear and tear on...but guess that is to be expected.

Still considering the re-upholstery route. But at least now I know how to clean it either way!

Apply Autoglym leather balm to the steering. It will help.
Yep - have ordered something for that and for the leather in car in general. Thanks for the advice!

Hi all...washed my car on Wednesday and quickly gave it some attention inside this afternoon. And I must say I keep getting fonder and fonder of the colour everyday. I've liked it from the start but it seems to just getting better. I guess he fact that I now wash it myself with some quality stuff (based on all the advice I've received here) also helps. Its such an awesome feeling when I am done and I stand back and look at the finished product...never gets old just like this afternoon - below - and I wanted to share :)

Looking good! I've always liked the space grey colour.
I've noticed the M sport steering wheels get shiny after a while and I also disliked the look, never knew it was dirt.

What's happening with the rims? Anything else you'd like to do to the car?

When is your car out of plan? When will you be looking into software and will you be looking at removing the dpf as well?

I believe the B47 engine has sensors everywhere and soo much is electronic over the N47. Wondering if some mods such as dpf removal and perhaps even egr delete would cause problems. Hopefully not if done right and coded out / off correctly.

Cool thanks - the colour is mineral grey. Looks awesome but you have to keep it clean :) I had some ideas with the rims - very almost bought a set of 442's but someone beat me to it. After that I was back and fourth between finding another set of 442's and actually started liking the 405's more. Also toyed with the idea of changing my 403's to a gunmetal grey or just doing the inserts grey. But I've become content with mine and I think a little bling amongst the grey and gloss back is good - the rims along with the tailpipes. I also considered the idea of getting a set of M Sport style carbon and stainless steel exhaust tips but now I am looking for a set of nice new chrome tips - actually found a few forum members willing to help with with a set.

I always think my list of upgrades a nearing completion but something else always catches my eye hahaha...perhaps I need to stay off the forum haha. Right now things on my list still are to reupholster the steering wheel - perforated leather on the sides and plain leather top and bottom with blue stitching. And then as I mentioned new exhaust tips. I want to get the mesh, middle and sides of the front bumper re-sprayed dark grey as they have discolored a bit. Then the car is going for a detail hopefully next week - will get clay bar treatment, paint enhancement and ceramic coating. Its due for new carpets and the idea of changing the ambient lighting in the car has caught my attention...still thinking that through but blue would be cool. I am also keen on M Performance door projectors. Other than that I think I'll be done...hehe.

The car has software, DP and EGR delete done already and no issues whatsoever.

Looks good , who sprayed the Diffuser?
I sprayed mine using can spray, it was looking amazing until a heavy wind came and I got some newspaper stuck on some wet paint, I was idiot for leaving it outside to dry :roflol:  will have to sand it down and re do it now.

Oh no - that is not good, sorry to hear about that! I had it re-sprayed at BMW Autobahn Speedshop. They did a great job. The car was recently there as I had the front bumper re-sprayed - and I had the mesh and plastic around the fogs etc. sprayed matt black as well. Looks fresh from the front again now. They don't charge an arm and a leg and I know the colour will be right doing it at BMW.
