That heat exchanger is quite pricey. It's quite easy to replace but getting to it takes patience. I removed intake manifold, coolant hoses (I broke all them so please spray plenty oil in the connectors because all those hoses are expensive). I moved heater valve out the way.Luigi_S said:Went to check the car today as she's been standing for a few weeks. Checking fluids and so on and discovered that there is a load of oil in the coolant expansion tank. Damn.
There is no coolant in the oil in the engine, so I believe it's the heat exchanger by the filter.
So will need to replace that, flush the whole system to clear the oil, etc. etc. etc.
Car is also feeling very laggy below 2000 rpm. Not sure where to look to solve that. In fact it feels worse than before I replaced the intercooler, not sure if it's just more boost making it feel like that or if there is an issue.

I also replaced the intercooler on my car recently. I'm also experiencing no low down power.

My theory is because of boost leak the turbo probably boosts more. At full throttle it still goes but not as violently as before. Now it doesn't feel like a turbo car. Feels more na.Luigi_S said:Waseem 333i said:That heat exchanger is quite pricey. It's quite easy to replace but getting to it takes patience. Interesting, I wonder why that is? Doesn't make sense. It should be better.
