the last of the true M cars

Someone mentioned that M owners should appreciate or reckognise regular BMW's more. I like to think the opposite is true. That M owners should have a greater appreciation for all BMW's.

Speaking for myself I enjoy driving the E46 a lot, and I get to push it to the limits much more often. As it's not as capable as an M, so I can reach the car's limit before my own. As with the M I hardly ever get close to the car's limit before I reach my own.

However I do try pursue the limits of the M every time I drive it. It is just that much more satisfying in the end.

Just a clever marketing ploy from BMW. Nothing more and nothing less.

I t would be interesting to have an M division engineer on this thread. See what he feels about people saying the M5 and M6... or any M cars are not "real". And he will probably agree.

This is a real M car:

Go to BMW motorsports website and see if you can find an M5.

Considering that they lap the Nurburgring in the same time as an E92 M3 they make even little sense.

Every car that has had some form of official M designation on it has been a technological marvel combined with driving pleasure. Purists would still have that every M car should have a turbo in it... because of the 2002turbo.

Remember BMW has been in the habit of slapping an M badge on something with minor tweaks as a marketing ploy for years. E28 M535, E24 635csi (with M badge in SA), E36 Motorsport Ed, Since then a whole host of cars with various M bits.

Here we are trying to determine which //M car built by BMW is the best one, we have already covered Each of the Brilliant engines (unlike certain manufacturers who simply dump the same motor through the whole performance range) in,the different Beautifully sculpted bodies , each with unique features so it can be distinguished from its other BMW siblings(unlike certain companies, who could'nt give a damn whether or not their performance models look any different than the rest), perfect weight distribution,in some cases weight saving combined with suspension upgrades which makes for brilliant handling and feedback to the driver.( very unlike a certain company whose cars are fast in a straight line and forget about cornering).... if we compare our beloved //M cars to what the Merc Boys have to put up with, we are spoiled for choice boys:rollsmile::rollsmile::biglol:
