Good news. Progress in the right direction. And thanx for tip with mhd. That makes it a bit easier to offloadGood morning all.
Been a while since my last update i know.
So, after the motor was removed, some investigation was done, and heads removed for checks. no cylinder damage of any kind at least and they looked good (No images unfortunately), however the Bank 2 head showed signs of Cyl7 and 8 valve stem seals leaking. checks were done on the valves themselves, and thankfully no damage to the guides, seats or valves themselves.
The injectors were also tested and sonic cleaned on the contraption, Cyl8 injector showed a bad spray pattern, not leaking, but not flowing near enough, i have a video of this, but too lazy to upload to youtube and load it here, but if there is interest, i can do that later, let me know.
After the cleaning, i was told the Injectors are now perfect, no leaking, and all flowing the same rate as needed.
The work was done to replace all Valve Stem Seals, and the motor was put back together, i also requested for all new Spark Plugs while they were in the general area, and judging by the look of the plugs previously when i removed them, it was time for fresh plugs.
The car has been put back together for the last week and a half. and been running with no issues. No smoking, and smooth running.
I requested some dyno time, to which they agreed, and i Provided my MHD log in details. (I created a separate gmail account and password, so that if i ever sold the car, i can sell the MHD account with it.)
first few tests on the dyno brought up a Misfire on Cyl5, to which the coil was moved to Cyl4, ran the car again, and subsequently the misfire moved to Cyl4, a new Coil was ordered. (I asked is it not prudent to replace all coils, and i was told not needed, and that there is no point wasting money where its not needed. Which i appreciated the honesty).
With the Coil replaced, some more runs were done to gather data, and the Budler team reviewed my logs last night and this morning. it showed Fueling to be in spec for stock software, so they not concerned on that front. the issue that was seen was that there was a large boost variation between banks, and after some investigation, its the wastegates that need adjusting. Now, this actually takes my mind back to when i had the car taken to Xcede some time ago for a health check, and there was a timing variation between banks, as well as boost variations, i have a feeling that the wastegates have been slightly out of sync for some time. So Budler and the team will loosen the turbos, and adjust the wastegates to close fully and correctly and then run another test again. This will be done during the course of the day and tomorrow, and ill get an update Thursday so that they can plan to arrange with the transporter to get the car delivered back to me.
Bit of a messy post apologies, doing it at work lol. But can do a clean up and upload the videos and some pics later if needed. but this is the just of it, and where i currently am.
Its been a long road so far, but, i commend the team for being so thorough, and keeping me updated. Id much rather have the sufficient time taken to do the work correctly, than rushing them and being impatient. Budler have been amazing, and i applaud them fully.
Will give more details when i have them.
