To date, our flash cannot be detected by local diagnostics machines. That may & I'm sure will change at some stage.
Why do I make this point? Because a customer now can choose to make use of our tune with the peace of mind that he doesn't run the risk of losing his warranty (at present).
The point of if he breaks something, well that's not in my hands. I would advise a customer that if it breaks due the tuning that the ethical thing to do is pay for it. But I can't control that.

Are you basing your statement on fact, that tuning increases R&D costs and increases vehicle prices and parts, which you as a customers pay for. If so please can you post an official statement from the manufacturer to substantiate your claim.
For one your ///M cars are not the highest profit generating vehicle for BMW nor the best selling, your base model 3 series is. That being said, it is only obvious that majority of base model 3 series would account for more MP claims than an ///M car.
In my view tuning does not play a major role in the increase in R&D costs.

My opinion is BMW makes plenty of money , who cares if they have to replace/repair parts thats been aftermarket tuned on motorplan.

thats it right there. so: "please buy my drugs... the cops cant detect it, so you're good to go..its the best product available because of that. just if they do catch you, its not my problem"
some of us are looking at this from a wider perspective of what things like this cause... and i think it really is along the lines of insurance fraud in my opinion.
its just a fact that if OEM's improve their diagnostics to detect these kinds of modifications, that cost comes directly from the customer in some way or another. is that really so hard to understand?
seriously, you're covered nicely either way. you'll make your money, and all will be well for you. that oke in the black M4 will probably sell his car in the next 5,000 km's and he will be fine too ..its some other dude (probably me) who will have to suffer the consequences of having the warranty get cancelled when BMW eventually detect tampering on that car.

I declare all my mods on all my cars to insurance. Santam, with invoices from the tuners. So they insure the car at a higher value (car+cost of mods), which barely affects my premium.
On another note, BMWSA now officially has the most toxic car community in my books. Not even the politics on VW compares to this thread.
I can't help but wonder if any of the hypocritical posters have ever listened to an non-purchased MP3 on their phone or watched a pirated movie.
I'm sorry my JB4 made BMW too expensive for you to afford. Go buy yourself a Datsun Go. Their not popular in the tuning community and should fit your pocket just fine.
Well done Xcede!
