Phone more engineering company's to confirm and for prices.
The valve seats is the problem, the way I understand and changing them makes sense.
Don't know your car's mileage but Reconditioning the Cylinder head should be due by now anyway.
Don't sell it.

You can NOT use unleaded in that car! the older cars fuel injection systems rely on the lead in the fuel for lubrication on the metal diaphragms etc. same problem with Porsche and VW with the K-Jet tronic fuel injections.. they all start to f*ck out one after the other!

how ever you do not have to sell your car.. change of fuel management, fuel rail, pumps and injectors and you will have a unleaded happy application!

I have a Porsche with K-Jet and a catalytic converter, that states unleaded only... (well, it does not have K-Jet anymore...)

Dude, it's gonna be more bucks to keep on riding, but a bottle of NF RACE Octane booster 6 ron per tank at about R100 per dose. That'll do it for you. But you can experiment with less, or use toluene, start with 5% mix per tank. I buy the 200L drums from Protea chemicals at about R13.00 per KG, thats roughly a liter.
Or try to get a contact that have access to AVGAS.
Or trade the car.
Or drop the compression and turbo/supercharge it.

never new cats were even there those years!

which model was it? 911 , 924, 928 , 930 ?

924. But a california import, thus the cat... Also had a aux air pump, to pump clean air into the exhaust. But all that carp is long gone... Anyway, what I was trying to say is, that I don't think K-jet requires unleaded? Its such a simple system. And AFAIK, the lead only really plays a role after the fuel has burned.

No we really have big issues with the K Jets on both porsches and VW's since there are no lead in the fuel. and the other issue is there is no more parts available to keep them in working order!

Ah, okay. Well then I'm even more glad I got rid of it.

I'm running a VEMS

The idea was to drop in a 5cyl 20V turbo Audi motor in it, but I realized the base was not good enough for what I planned, and I would need to change almost everything that moves on the car, so I lost interest.

As far as I know, I have the motronic fuel management system and I already replaced the fuel pump with a walbro volvo pump, because the top broke off the Bosch pump.

then there is no reason you can not use unleaded!

Apparently just the valve seats that needs to change, but I am thinking of swopping the motor for something nicer, like a V8 540i motor if you catch my drift. But that will only happen in about 2 years or so, because sasol said they not planning on replacing LRP very soon.
