Moto_GP said:You don't have it??!!!
:nonono: such a pity because it makes the car supa fast and everything goes blurry.
You bought a dud.
You should take it back :fencelook:
hotchocolate said:Same story here. I dont have a sport button either. Apparently it gives 20nm more torque between a certain RPM range in certain gears and makes the exhaust crackle a bit more.
Jarv said:Nice i didnt know this,very interesting!
Do you know if you can put a back freeflow box on without loosing the m/plan??
sherwinZ said:Hmm doubt its running the full map., its an option that needs to be coded on the ECU.
If you have it then it should do the usual. Improve throttle response and tighten up steering., and as hotchocolate mentioned, change the exhaust note.
Would have been a "nice to have"..
Jarv, i would think it would void any exhaust system related claims. Maybe related engine ones as well.
Jerez said:Don't know about increase in torque or mapping and I've never heard of this.i do know that I only drove with it on as it made the throttle response sharper. With it off, the pedal felt spongy- with it on , it felt lighter.
Won't a sprint booster sort this issue out
sherwinZ said:Thought all the Cooper S models had the Sport Button as standard... but mine doesn't
Apparently it was an optional extra for early 2010 and below models.
Anyone else not have one in their Cooper S ?
And does it make much of a difference?
MikeR said::rollsmile: the sport Button opens up the exhaust with a flap that is supposed to give it better breathing, and changes the map slightly.
So if you dont have it then the pipe is already derestricted and you are running the full map for that Model.
I think MiniMike will be able to clarify this as he used to sell them.
sherwinZ said:You can add the JCW pack,... but you already have that.
Think thats about it for mini hey.
BlueBeastie said:It is an optional extra and you can feel a difference. Heavier steering, better throttle repsonse and my personal favourite, a popping exhaust. With practice I've managed to get it to double tap on the pops too.
