Thanks gconry. As soon as my cars serviced then we take on the track. My brakes need replacing so going on the track with blunt brakes could be too exciting for my like.

Thanks ooompie. Guess ill rather put that money to better use then.

I strongly recommend a single 63mm system, sounds wicked and your car will fly with those mods. Your exhaust is the only thing holding you back.
Hear is kaboom's 328i with a single 63mm s/s freeflow system done by wildcat.

you could also do a ratio change you have a 2.93 ratio so you can gain alot form a ratio swap :)

3.07= 5% (272Nm-285.6Nm)
3.15= 7.5% (272Nm-292.4Nm)
3.38= 15.5% (272Nm-314.16Nm)
3.46= 18% (272Nm-320.96Nm)

it will increase fuel consumption but even a 5% gain in torque is good :) (272Nm-285.6Nm)

@ moranor. Only R2500 for parts and labour?? Wow. Looks like a massive job but i have been eyeing a 3.46 for some time now.

@Gizmo. If i run the single 63mm system would that mean that if i get TNT headers from Masterparts that i would have to get a special 'adaption connection' to take it from 2 pipes to 1 and then get a twin pipe single piece tail set to kind of keep the OEM look?

Does Silencer City in Maitland do Wildcat exhuasts? :thinking:

That 328i sounds awesome Gizmo

Yo giz howzit? What is the motivation behind the single 63? You would hav e less effective diameter than stock? It will surely be stronger in the bottom range but it will not breath to the mids and top! We gained 15wkw and 22nm with the duel 57mm. From idle to limmiter we gained!
Did you do a before and after run when he installed the single pipe? You know me I'm not shooting your mod down I just try and understand the logic.

i dont think you need to go bigger than duel 54mm the equivalent single pipe would be 77mm, but im not sure you get 77mm or if it will fit...

absolute area/volume is not the whole story, there is also friction to take into account.

Weight is one plus, the other is that over-run sound when you come off the throttle, it makes you excited!
The e46 330i race cars used the single 63mm systems, they only opted for 1 silencer though.
I believe the M3 should have a single 76mm system as the engine displaces alot more air.
I have never tested them back to back as the 330i has never seen a dyno.

listen to how the 330i sounds with a single 63mm and 328i headers...
