I had a clean record since I have my license (16 years), this morning a lady in an SUV with bullbar ran into me while BBM-ing at a robot

Not serious, but the rear bumper needs to be replaced (R15K)

:argh:

And that children is how road rage was born...

So are they going to be replacing the entire 1/4ter pannel??

they can only replace the panel if there is more that 15% damage to it

I will still give them hell all the way for that, and I will go in EVERY single day and check up on what they are doing!!! I will specifically complain about how that specific place on the car looks odd, and I will be complaining about the colour is miss-matched, and the panels are crooked, and how the only way i will be happy is if they give me a new car...

I have argued already to the point of exhaustion about the panel, but I will try my best to be there everyday to monitor the progress

Jeez... this is LIFE... :thumbdo: I was driving through Sea Point a couple days ago and saw a white F20 parked, also with side damage to the car, I cringed when I spotted this knowing that the car is so new! :bangdesk:

Well for those of you who were wondering what was happening with the car,

I sent it in today for the body work and parts replacement that should take about 2 weeks or so will keep updating regularly on the progress made.

Well guys its been nearly a week later than what BMW told me that my car would be ready and received an email yesterday with images of the progress so far

things that still need to be done: rear bumper and left rear wheel to be attached along with electronics, trim and windows

How much more do they have to do? Looks like just assembly of the last trim bits and so on. As annoying as this is, especially with a car that is brand new, the damage was mostly superficial, so this will quickly fade into the "background" once you have your car back!

It will never be the same. No panel shop can give you what bmwsa did when it was new... Never

Wow, what an unnecessary comment

For what it is worth, I have seen my own guys match metallic colours to such a close match that I cannot tell where they worked on the car.

Its a small prang which by the looks of it has been fixed very well, in a months time you will have forgotten about it.

Just to add, do you realise how many cars arrive at dealerships damaged or in need of respray work?

The guys at Dent Magic Tygervalley work on a brand new Volvo daily with paint defects and its the same with Forsdicks BMW.

I know of many cars which are sold new where bumpers and bonnets have all been re-sprayed and usually not even by an approved panelshop yet they are perfect.

Stop making the poor guy stress. :thumbdo:
