All i can say is WOW to put it mildly...

I just picked the car up.... it feels like a totally different car

i didnt want to come back to work all i wanted to do was driving around because i was enjoying the car so much :)

anyway there was no need to fit cat foolers the engine light didnt come on.
The power has increased considerably and the car has become very very responsive......

And the guy who fitted the exhaust did a great job i was very impressed ... initially i was very sceptical of his workmanship but now i am a believer :)

i didnt realize that the cats held back so much of power from the car.... i'm so glad i took it out :)

Brian on Sydney road did mine....
I changed my mind about going to primaforce because their exhaust weren't madarel bent pipes....

But I still rate Primaforce very highly.... they are really good

did you go to the one on North Coast rd?

Nah went to pinetown, was still recovering from Friday night, couldnt drive too far :)
Ah man, I didn't know any better and they did a good job but took forever (waited for stock from North Coast Rd), they left my cowley centre box and the fairly new existing pipes I had previously installed, just changed the rear box coz the idiot put a sausage box previously :banghead: which was the source of all my problems and they changed my tail piece.

hey Lunatik i have the same car, how about engine note i kinda like my car silent, can i have this done but stil retain my silence, and no offence to any I heard a 318ti with a freeflow exhaust it sounded terrible, i just didn't like it

so if its possible im definately removing my cats as well.

What exactly did they do to your car? e.g new branches etc.?

i didnt change the branches on the car all i did was installed a 2 box freeflow system and removed the cats.

The car sounds awesome.... even the guys at work were very impressed with the tone of the car...
I told the guy who fitted the exhaust that i don't want the car to be loud because i dont like a noisy car.

if you want a silent car then i think you should keep you standard system but just remove the cats or you can do a complete freeflow system but ask them to install 3 silencer boxes instead of 2

Had the engine light cleared. Didn't come back on
Mine is rather silent with a very slight gruffness to the tone, sounds sexy :) Thats with 3 boxes, left the one OEM box in and just replaced centre and rear box.

Lunatik... i am listening very carefuly to you as i have a 318i Facelift, which boils down to same engine different body type.

Have been very tempted to get rid of the cats but was not sure of how worth while it is. You sound very chuffed with results.
I will say again, i know the valvetronic isnt gonna blow your socks off like a 6 pot ( which is all i have owned till now ) but i gotta give it to the little valvetronic.. she still impresses me 6 months down the line.

So with this in mind.. and your positive results... it looks to be a good to go mod for me too ! :):)

Any advice before i start shopping around ? I would like to do it properly and have no engine light etc.

Anybody recomend a place to have this done in PE ?

Just not the powerflow on cape road that fitted my stainless tip... that guy spent a good 20 minutes telling me what a kak motor the 1.8L was... no balls and lazy. ( this after an innocent question about what is the most popular free flow now a days... i remember the good old Bro Speed  )

We do have a Steves Auto Clinic down here now... thoughts?

Cheers

i would of suggested powerflow :) but i'm sure there are other guys in PE that can do a good job

SAC in durbs has a very bad reputation all i hear are complaints bout them... maybe the PE branch is better

i dont think these engines are lazy... i have 18's on my car with 245 tyres at the back and i think my car goes very well .... its not very fast but it has sufficient power.

i just found out today that there are 2 cats on your branches to so if you want to you can change your branches plus fit a freeflow exhaust.

i would suggest go with Viper if your gonna change the branch... their branches are tops. it should set you back about 2k.. powerflow usually stocks Viper products

you should get alot of power with just the branch and exhaust...
