....the 5 series is too much of a big heavy tank. Its not agile....

:biglol::roflol::biglol::roflol: yeah right :tease:

Having said that, you are obviously a 3 series man, and should get what you desire.
No point in being convinced otherwise, and the 330i e46 is a very very nice and competent piece of machinery

Well having driven my Dad's E39 quite a lot, I think I'm well qualified to make that statement :D But yea, different personal benchmarks I guess..

I'm also 23 - I can't really see myself cruising around in a 5er :p

Then it must be a 523 auto with 1,000,000 miles on the original standard suspension components

As i said previously.
I am not trying to convince you to get a 5 series.

I would personally say go for the 330i. You won't be sorry.

Paying slightly more will be worth it when you are smiling ear to ear

Well, there is some valid truth in this - look at the 1M when compared to some of the bigger M cars. Quick, and very agile! But a 5 Series is an awesome cruiser and certainly able to hold onto the road very very well - M5 of course is and has always been legendary, so no arguing there!!!

Personally, I like the 3 Series - it's the right size of vehicle for my needs at the moment, but, I can see myself upgrading to a 5 Series some day!

Not to sidetrack the issue, but while the 5 series is generally bigger, it is not always that much heavier. A while ago, I was looking at the E60 530d - IIRC, it weighed only 50KG more than a 330d.

However, the 5 series in general does suffer from an "old man's car" image compared to the 3 series.

325ci = coupe, 330ci = convertible

Thats jsut what BMW SA decided to import, my point was, if they had decided to import the 330ci Coupe, I would be after one of those.

the Coupe is less stiff than the 4 door that might have something to do with it the e46 M3 has plenty extra braces to make it stiff...

Glad you went for the 330i, you automatically get big brakes and the 330i gets better fuel economy than the 325i. +-50km more on a tank with urban driving.

In practical driving conditions, yes, BUT the biggest problem with the 330i is you just want to hear that beautiful exhaust tone more and more .... it's a symphony as it gets closer to the red line and you just can't resist taking it there over and over again :inlove:

Sigh .... I'm gonna miss my car :cry:

I dont think that the 330i is gonna sound a great amount better.

I do think that the 330i and the 325i might be similar on fuel consumption.

It does sound a great amount better! much deeper tone.

They are not similar fuel consumption, I own both and the 330i is miles better!! Hence the reason for swapping the 2.5lt for the 3.0lt in my 325i touring...

You swapped the 2.5litre engine to a 3 litre engine in your touring ? When ?

If I am not mistaken he is yet to do it.......

I will also confirm that the 330i has a much better sound that the other e46 I6's, it even sounds deeper that the 328i.
The ad some more induction noise :drool: (in general I6's do good with some more induction noise)
