Would anyone be interested in scan service for fault codes in Cape Town?

Would probably be limited to OBD 2 cars or cars woth 20 pin port.

Cost for simple scan on most cars incl BMW would be R75.00. A follow up scan would be R50.

An in depth scan (BMW only) would be R150.

And lastly a once off unlimited scan fee of R600.

This is not an adbertisement but simply a indication of interest.

If mods feel it inappropriate they may take it off.

Note: i have sent a email regarding fees to mods.

Thanks

Just to note guys the reason for this service is to help you find out whats wrong with the car before you take it in to be fixed otherwise some wise guy migjt try to BS you and you end up spending a fortune.

A normal scan is R350 to R400. So for less than 2 scans you get unlimited scans. The reason for asking payment is to cover any petrol cost and how much fuel does R50 buy you?

Now that im actually at a proper computer screen.

Abovementioned prices are subject to change depending on when our Mods will actually answer my emails....

But I can confirm that it wont be too much. Probably just the initial price and travelling cost. Something like first 20km free and thereafter x amount per km. I think thats fair enough given the price of petrol nowadays.

Will keep updating and will also possibly expand to our other neighbourin forums.

Good day all,

Hope you are well.

Below are the final costs and times of availability for scans.

Cars
Normal Code reading/deleting and limited programming on BMW's and most other brands incl. Ford, GM, Audi, Mercedes, Citroen, Fiat, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, Opel, Peugot, Porsche, Renault, Alfa, SAAB, Seat, Smart, Volvo, Volkswagen Daihatsu, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mahindra, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Proton, SsangYong, Subaru, Suzuki, Tata, Toyota.

In depth scans and reports done only on BMW's.

Needs OBD 2 port underneath the Steering Wheel on drivers side or can also attend to the 20 pin connector on earlier BMW's.

Costs
Single simple code read and delete session R100.00 (Coding: extra R50.00)
Follow up simple scan read delete session R50.00 (Highly recommended as scans could be from jobs done by BMW or the Mech and never erased. Thus the follow up will reveal which are current faults.
In depth scan, error codes, live tests R200.00. (BMW only).
Unlimited scan package R600.00 once off.

Travel costs
Attending to my place FREE
First 20km FREE
Thereafter R5.00 per km.

Times
Weekdays 19:00 - 21:00.
Weekends Anytime subject to first phoning
Possibly emergency scans in Lunch time 13:00 - 14:00 (subject to extra costs).

I will strive to help as much I can.
This is a hobby and I do have a streneous full time job.
I have come to learn allot and will do my best to leave a happy customer when im done.

Main purpose of this service is to help fanatics not to get cheated by dealers and or mechanics. Thus the cheaper rates. Not to make money but to help the fanatics community.

With regard to those with Motorplan, I can read the codes, maybe even clear some but any coding etc will definately afaik void motorplan.

I hope to meet all you great people and help you to rather spend that R30 000 on your family than a new turbo when it was just a leaking air hose.

The diagnostics for brands, other than BMW, will probably only be available next month. If problems are sort out earlier I will let you guys know.

Kind regards

Chris
