Its refreshing to see attention to detail in yours and Alex's rebuilds, I don't feel so alone when it comes to quality builds anymore. Well done guys!
We must get together for a few beers sometime to compare notes:thumbs:

I agree 100%, it is extremely difficult to find guys that put this much effort into their work. While doing this is a source of income, it is clear that its not the only reason you guys do this. The wealth of knowledge and willingness to share that is what separates the good from the great...

This doesnt apply to just Gizmo, a1exander and Lysis, there are others.., you know who you are. Stand up and take a bow. :bravo:

The crank is coated with a protective layer by the factory which is a peculiar colour when heated.

It might well be to get oil run off.

so Ironman not spiderman

if this is the case I would guess the blue end is 'tempered' differently in the factory to give it different properties... or do you think this is the natural colour given to it from different heat in the engine?

Small update as we are struggling to find rings although we have one set already and are looking for another as well as big end bearings with the Nissan bearings not being a suitable alternative.

Crank torqued and in place.

I have no idea why mechanics love sealant and smear it everywhere they can.

After some time of cleaning it will be installed as the designers intended with one rubber O ring.

If you're really lucky, they'll use that red sealer :argh:

I had plenty of that on Pauls 635 and Shaun's V8.
Enough to last me a life time I am afraid.

Looks great..! Is this the engine your start with on the 03-06-2013..?

8?>

Customers priorities changed and he lost interest in the project so it was put on hold for a long time...

Lysis ended up buying this car for himself
