Head getting ready for the engineers. A small sample of work done.
All the valves were cleaned. Here is a before picture of an exhaust valve.
After cleaning
Valve springs after cleaning.
All exhaust valves after cleaning.
Exhaust valve springs cleaned and marked.
Same procedure for the inlet valves.
A few random pictures of the block prior to stripping.

Lysis and A1exander both know their stuff very well.
Jezebel's Valve locks are back from Vac and I'll be having Lysis install the new valves along with the Vanos Valve Kit.
If anyone needs engine work or Maintenance in the JHB area, these guys are who you call. SERIOUSLY!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching them work and seeing this thread, I can tell you their attention to detail is second to none.
This car is in good hands. :thumbs:

Bearings close to failure.
Currently all of the engine components are with the engineers. The block will be honed and the crank will be polished. The cylinder head will be tested for leaks and the valves will be lapped.
The gearbox front and rear oil seals require attention. The oil leak in the bell housing is from the front oil seal.

Yes indeed. Once these motors spin a bearing things get expensive quickly. Often the crank gets scored and then no amount of polishing or grinding will save it.
M3 crankshafts aren't cheap.

the colour difference on 5 and 6. Would it not have anything to do, with different temperatures on the engine. example maybe the back is running hotter than the front
