Engine almost complete.
Waiting for a few rubber hoses for the emmissions stuff and vanos work (must find someone to do it) and the wiring harness will go on and then we mate it to the gearbox.
Need to get a clutch kit for it first which I shall be collecting in the morning.

Saw this last Monday in the flesh and it was not populated to this now! This is spectacular work, not like we expected any less. :praise::praise::praise: and then some more :praise::praise::praise:

Andy the skill you certainly have judging by your oil burner threads.

As to you retiring I wish I could fly.......and the heck with building motors as a hobby

We started the car tonight and it sounds pretty sweet.
Did not order all the solenoid seal so will have to order some more tomorrow and then we can close it up proper

I shall download pics later and post some of our mishaps in trying to put the engine back.

Looking good. Was the engine dropped in with the plenum assembled? Cause it's damn difficult to get the small pipes under it in place.

Engine assembled ready for installation.

This is the point we got stuck without being able to sink it in all the way nor pull it out.
So we had to strip the front completely as well as the steering shaft to get it in and then with a bit of force 5lb hammers and angry talk we eventually got it in.
Not an easy installation even if you have the knack of it.

Finished product has just returned from a 300km trip.
Strut brace does not fit well so we will be looking for a new one.

Stevin dropped off the AP Racing brake set up yesterday and I will spend this week doing some work on changing brakes.(thanks Stevin)

First off I will need to make new radial mountings for the calipers as his mounting is based on a 328 brake spacing which is different to the M3.

Will also need new brake lines......

Stay tuned.
