Many years later I was fortunate to have bought a face lift 1996 model Astra 200tS with very low mileage, that thing was a beast for a factory carraise:
I remember the Astra ts, I also remember a story that there was a sticker that was made for them in the same font as the badges: "M3 eater".
Was a factory option from Opel I was told? Not sure on how true this is.

Nah highly doubt that sticker story is true however, I did witness my old man give a German Spec HELL from Durban all the way to Marianhill toll:rollsmile:

Love the car man!!

That is the C20XE motor which, as Gordvisr states, never ever came in a Kadett from factory. The car you had was probably the 180is 16V which was a C18SEL engine with Ecotec on the plug cover, with 99kW.

The time has come that i introduce my First love.
The Past.....
Back in November 2002 i bought a 1994 Opel Kadett 200is, At the time it had 213 XXXkm on the clock. Back in 2008 i re-sprayed the car myself. At that time the car had a tad less than 400 000 km on.
Just wanted to say thanks for starting this thread. You got my in big trouble today. After seeing your thread, I had the itch again and started OLX'ing and Gumtree'ing. Missus caught me and I reckon I would have got off easier if it had been porn rather than cars..........
Needless to say I've been banned from the above sites and 200iS searching.:blueCry:

That 4 Kw was not that made the diffrence it was the redline that made the difference, but yes would not say they were better but sure faster in stock form.
