looking forward to the end result , what time frame are you looking at ?

For now, not aiming at any time as yet( this car topping the scale at 1300kg before the build ), the plan is to build a reliable daily TOY if i can call it that, aiming for at least 150 Kw anything more would be a bonus.

What box are you running? With my astra I ran with a f20 box no lsd, played on the road but not too hectic but the turbo came in early and spun quite quickly. Then when I bought my kadett it had the f28 with lsd and it played quite a bit on th road jumping from lane to lane once boost kicked in. Nice in the dry but couldn't do much in the wet. Enjoyed them and do miss them. Too bad you don't see many 200ts on the road anymore. Patience bud it will be ready soon and you will have a blast:thumbs: the 8v motor are also strong

Currently will keep the F18 box untill i cam get a replacement output shaft on the F20 I have( non LSD ). Loved the TS also but to sell this one i just cant, this car kept me moving for years, so i decided to make it a Baby Ts :) However i did see a Ts on Facebook this morning going for R60 000, not bad looking from the pictures.

This is an awesome build, can't wait to see the end result! Had the privilege to drive a tS a while back and it made me wet myself in both excitement and fear - mostly fear.. :fencelook:

Yup also had a spin a few years ago in a Ts , thought the seat rails was going to tear off, crazy as hell.

Looking much better that the first one i got.

Now the block need to go in to match the wall clearance of the pistons and awaiting delivery of the head, might receive it tomorrow.

nothing, both blocks were sent to engineering for bore, chemical clean etc, the one was 87.5 Bore the other 86.5, the first pistons i wanted to use were 87.5 and upon assembling i noticed that the grooves on two of the pistons were not up to standard so decided to get a new set of pistons.

Love these cars, i grew up with them
My father had a:
- 2.0 8 valve (astra)
- 1.6 16 valve euro (astra)
- 2.0 euro (estate)
- 1.8 16 valve euro (astra) - short lived the car got written off by some delivery truck

And when my older brother started driving he got the astra that would seal the deal for me, just because of what he done to her...

She started off as a 1.8 8 valve IE, after a bearing knock he changed the block to the 2.0 8 valve block, not learning his lesson and another bearing knock later, we swapped the motor again but this time using a 2.0 Monza block

The mods to the car:
free flow exhaust with wildcat branches (2 boxes and i think 57mil diameter)
Gas flowed and ported
Button clutch
Vinear gear
Pocket pistons
and the beauty of it all a 312 degree cam, that on idle would cause the houses windows to vibrate

It was a beauty

keen to see where you take this beast :praise:

So had a few bumps on the road to sort out, the plug on the oil channel i wanted to use for the oil feed to the turbo was stuck, when trying to remove it i accidently drilled through it ( wanted to use speed out to remove it ) and shavings went into the oil channels, so had to open the block again.

Had to make an reducer adaptor for the turbo to fit onto the manifold but this lowered the turbo to sump height and the turbo is to close to the block. So i exchanged the GT28 turbo for a T3/T4 unit.

I also went and fetched some other goodies needed.

The head ported and sorted out with a few parts cleaned out.
Got a new cam-box also.

Almost there, the anticipation must be killing you. Everything is nice and clean, nice work. How's your car on engine mountings now with the boost?

We will se how the mounts goes, did some mods on them prior to the conversion. But we will have to run first to see what will happen. From now ro middle feb I will be quite busy at work so we will see when she will start up.

Started her up This week, unfortunately head gasket keeps on leaking, still doing some homework and problem solving around it, taking her for exhaust and plumbing Wednesday and when off again will start with the wiring for dicktator.

Nice buddy, How much space do you have between your radiator? Mine was limited and went through 2x radiators thumbdo: as somehow in the drive the motor pressed a hole in them

Space is limited, i can get a fist between turbo and radiator, the manifold is a bit closer at the top. We will see how it goes.

And share some pics of that one you refering to:=):

Hey bud, very nice build!

Maybe double check that your torque setting for the head bolts are correct and check your torque wrench. It could be that the wrench is reading wrong and you keep on under torqueing the bolts...

2ndly make sure your block has the correct machined finish to work with the MLS gasket. If they machined it too smooth you will never get enough bite.

I have installed a couple of MLS head gaskets on 200sx's and never had a leaking problem.

Good Luck!

So today i removed the head again, tried a few things but alas, not working, still leaking through, tomorrow if i have time , will remove the head and send it for pressure test, they never tested it :(. Will also send in the block to skim the deck.
