Oil Pump Replacement

Morning

I was driving the 5 on Sunday, while on the freeway, I started to hear a sound from the engine and then a warning light came on, the oil light and the message on the screen said something about "Check oil pressure" I stopped by the garage and checked the oil and it was on good level. Started the car and the tappets were making noise. One of the guys suggested an oil pump failure.

What would you guys advise on this? And if I have to replace the oil pump, what else do I need to replace? Maybe give me a checklist?

He know these motors like how I know GameOfThrones.

It does sound like a pump failure. Did you hear any bearing knocking sounds before the "Check" light came on?
Tappets making noise indicates no oil reaching them.

I think i could hear bearing knocking but can't be sure. Should I get the pump removed before buying another one?

Best is to have the crank bearings looked at first. If you ran bearings, it will cause loss of oil pressure.
