Hi Everyone

so its been a little while since i sold my E39 540i,
it was a reluctant sale but i had to for various reasons,
i loved the e39 but at the same time also loved the dynamics of the e46, and trusted my old e46 greatly

someone traded their pre fl auto e46 318i and a cash difference for my 540i, but the 318i just wasn't for me, ive always been a fan of how the 6cyl e46s feel so the hunt began for a 325ci/323ci or 330i,
after driving many examples i found my 330i,

here are the details;

2001 pre fl e46 330i
oxford green ll metallic
cream leather
manual 5 speed
143 000kms

A sneak of the interior, havent taken pics or cleaned properly yet,

no sports/m/executive packs or anything that i'm aware of but instead its a really clean, healthy feeling, solid car and drives beautifully, and is a manual which seems to be a rarity
i was initially looking for a fl 330i but after all the cars i drove this one just caught a little bit more of my attention, i like the pre fl e46's and being pre fl theres always the option of converting later which in a way is nice i think (but costly)
the cars colour and interior combo also really attracted me and i think its different and contrasts really well together, i think black sportspack seats would finish it of perfectly
i really like the way the car feels, its really solid (not in a heavy way), predictable, controllable and smooth, the m54b30 engine is a masterpiece as well, so smooth, nice and torquey and sounds great to
i'm really happy with the car and hope to keep it for quite a while and mod it slowly and tastefully, subtle
there are plans in the pipeline as funds provide (slow:nonono:)

p.s ive suddenly become a huge oxford green fan:inlove:
what an underrated colour

Congratulations, pretty rare colour on e46's.

Though I don't think that e34 is oxford green, looks more like atlantis blue I think.

Wow. Good looking car.

Love the colour combo.

I would keep the car pre facelift. That package just works.

@sankekur, ya i dont think that pic is an oxford green e34, i just really like the pic:=):in the thread it said it was some sort of green, cant remeber..

@jandre and doomsdaya, ya i really like the pre fl look, im 50/50 fl and pre fl so really happy either way

sorry for the bad cellphone pics but here are a couple sneak peak pics of the wheels i got for the car, thanks gizmo:thumbs:

they were originally meant for my 540i, but they should provide some nice aggressive fitment on an e46, and i really like the style of the wheel
i am getting them refurbished in the next 2 weeks and am seriously considering getting them painted gunmetal grey with the polished lip, eventually i would like clear smoked indicators all round on the car and shadowline trim/kidney grills/ rondells (don't know how you spell it), and think the gun metal would tie into that nicely, suggestions?

cant wait for them to be fitted, i have my tyres coming next week
:joy:
will post better pics when refurbed

here are a couple pics of e46's with the 5series style 42's,
just trying to get an idea of what it could look like
could only find a few examples scouring the net as it seems not many people have put these wheels on an e46,
seems like a lot of people have put on 5series style 32's though,

i think this blue one has 18" style 42's staggered (not 100% sure, could be 17"s), even more rare.....and expensive...

The blue one definitely looks like 18s. I think the 17s will look nice on your car :)

Just note for those wheels you will need spigot rings, as the center bore on e39 is different from the e46's (and most other BMW's)
You might also have to look and rolling, shaving or pulling your fenders due to the offset of the wheels.

@sankekur, Correcto:thumbs: ive got the spigot rings, the 72.6-74.1 i think it is so that the wheels fit the e46 hub, and will be running a slightly stretched tyre setup (not ideal but will from what ive heard will clear the arches), 205 front 8j, 225 back 9j, the rear fenders will most likely need a bit of a massage, 215 will clear but i dont want too much stretch on the tyre
hopefully it will go smoothly

@kish, thanks, i hope so to:thumbs:

Car looks great! Like the wheels that are on the car already. I think it's a timely and fitting wheel the style 47's

215 on a 9j is a bit optimistic. Even 205 on the front 8j is gonna look tight.
Let us know how it works out
