well the write up on diesel boost says:

Restores and boosts power & performance, improves acceleration & throttle response
Helps remove hesitations
Increases cetane rating of diesel by up to 5 numbers
Cleans injectors and entire fuel system
Removes deposits from combustion chambers, extending engine life
Reduces carbon formation, extending oil life. Cleaner oil means less wear and tear on the engine
Reduces diesel smoke
Improves cold starts
Reduces harmful emissions
Improves fuel economy
Adds lubricity to low sulphur diesel, lubricating fuel pumps and injectors
Protects engines and turbochargers - even when used with high sulphur diesel
Inhibits corrosion
Treats 1 tank up to 100 litres of diesel
Non-Flammable

with it treating 100l it definitely seems to be the best deal of the lot

So a can of this on every tank of diesel should do the car good ? Is there also different octane ratings for the diesel ?

only one flavor for now but judging by evangelical preaching done by most diesel owners on this forum they will have to make some more flavors soon... It treats 'up to' 100l so mixing it with less fuel should make a stronger mix I will see if i can get more info on this...

'It says Continual use will increase engine power and economy' so i would think yes you should run it in every tank :)

I must maybe give some of this stuff a try just out of interest to see if it does indeed stop my car from pinking - our fuel locally it rubbish for our engines!! :bangdesk:

I reckon that it will certainly work for you Philip. I tried multiple brands of fuel to rid my car of the detonation and nothing helped. NF has definately worked for me.

Diesel boost should be dosed as follows:

SUV 75-100l full bottle
cars 45-60l full bottle 1st tank then after you should use half a bottle per tank...

I never bothered looking at octane booster, figured that it wouldn't do much for for a NA car. Freerider mentioned it to me one day when I was looking around for some engine cleaner - when I bought the engine cleaner, decided to grab a bottle of octane booster at the same time. They say that it's pretty good for the engine, helps clean it out.

Now at 50-60 bucks a pop, you may not be to keen on dropping one in every tank (depending on how many tanks you use in a month), but it's definitely worth a try. It livens up the throttle, makes the car feel more willing. I ran one bottle, then didn't use again for another two tanks, there was a noticeable (not drastic) difference once it was gone. Used my last bottle last week, so it's time to grab a few more :fencelook:

Well, personally just want to try this to see if this stops the pinking that I'm noticing...

Octane booster and engine cleaner seemed to be the solution to that on a lot of the overseas forums. It's the cheapest fix (if it works) :)

Congrats Moranor.

NF Ultra works

I am using it in my 335 together with meth. One tin mixed with 20liter drum of 95 pump fuel which raises octane to at least 104 Ron. Or one tin ultra in 40liters pump fuel.

Yep, well in the US they talk about something called Seafoam - saw a vid of how it is used, looks a bit too scary for me to consider doing though... :fencelook:

Philip.
Seafoam and octane boosters are not the same thing.

NF ultra is not a booster like the other boosters in the NF range.
Ultra is a concentrated racefuel hence it is safe to use all the time and everytime provided it is properly mixed with pump fuel.

No, I gather Seafoam is an engine cleaner, so nothing to do with performance, and only to be used when absolutely necessary!!

NF race 6 Ron (black bottle) is the only boost not recommended for use in every tank... it is made for special occasions and will cause problems with use in every tank because of buildup... all the others are designed to be used in every tank and will not cause problems...

if you need 6 Ron on every tank you can use the Ultra Race concentrate on 60l...

using NF Ultra Race concentrate at full 10 Ron mix is also not recommended for every tank but 6 Ron and 8 Ron can be used in every tank...

always use the right octane for your conditions... no point in running 10 Ron all the time if you crawling in traffic just touching the throttle or doing very short trips and hardly heating up the engine... Most of guys that have problems with the high Ron boosts are overdosing for their conditions...

How to find the right octane
