so you will be able to buy a better looking supra from BMW and it will also come with a much better interior

Lets be honest, the chassis and drive train was never a problem for Toyota. Their biggest problem was, and continues to be, their exterior design.

ok lets be honest the colabaration between subaru and toyota on the ft86 was brilliant although subaru let it down with the 4 pot.
I hate the idea of bmw and toyota mixing as i would not want to be parked at a robot with the new z4 and a new supra pops up next to me looking exactly the same other than badges.
as well as im betting that there is going to be alot more of the toyotas running around coz who is really going to buy a bmw that looks like a toyota , and the price of the bmw is probably going to be alot more than the toyo but hey thats just my thoughts.:cartel:

Well not quite. Although the engine wasn't the most powerful on the market, the point of the car was not to be a robot drag racer. It did what it was designed to do, quite brilliantly.

For sure, but this is not going to be like the Toyota/Subaru collaboration at all. Read the text, the 2 cars are going to look completely different.

The point I was trying to make was that toyota makes good engines, and their cars are not bad in the handling department, so this collaboration is sort of redundant. Toyota need to partner up with Alfa Romeo or some other Italian design house, that can give them an exterior to match their performance.

the writeup says they will not look the same... unlike the subaru/toyota

on the BMW you will be getting better design, materials and finish

basically it is only a chassis and running parts share other than that they will be completely different

currently the Z4 cost is reduced by raiding the 3 series parts bin always has been
the collaboration might just improve the Z4 because now they can develop a completely new suspension setup for the Z4 and not rely on taking parts from a sedan

I was under the impression that the Z4 was a great handling car? How much improvement does it need?

thats true but most of the ones i see are being used for robot racers. ok they may be a few that actually go to a track and enjoy the handling of the chasis but most people just wanted it to be like a hot hatch.
I fully understand the point of the car to the point where i was actually looking to buy 1 but i cant help but have that feeling in the back of my head that one day and there will be that day when a hot hatch is parked next to me and wanting to have a go, it may be that im young as well:rollsmile:

ok my bad i did not see that, just presumed it was going to be the same as toyo and scooby.

i fully agree with that:coolShake:

it does work well but being able to develop it with more freedom could possibly make it even better
