N54 Big Turbo Build

I would not go with throttle body injection there is no way to make sure all intake ports get the correct fuel ratio as fuel is heavier in air so flow paths will differ slightly... you want your fuel to go in as close to the valve as possible

just look at throttle injected N2O systems vs port injected to see the limitations with throttle injection :)

Update. Sourcing Eth is a bit of a nightmare this week. Crestchem is out of stock and Rolfes closed early for some reason.

Does anyone know who stocks eth. Pref. near Midrand. Otherwise someone sell me 10L please!!!

Steves TB injection will run off your current fuel lines. All plug and play. No additional fuel tank needed. Also Steves TB injection is really for the smaller turbo guys, that want to move away from meth. The PI that terry is offering will be better suited for someone like you. Large/single turbo guys. But just be aware these additional injection options are also designed for the guys running high eth concentrations.
All the additional fuel options do advise that they're not to be run with meth.
So just choose wisely before forking out cash on a meth kit, that you might wanna pull out when you install the PI.

Meth is wonderful for its cooling benefits and octane boost, but too many of us are using it as a supplementary fuel system. Which, when something goes wrong its going to cost us big bucks to repair. All we need is one blocked meth nozzle at full boost...

Would it be possible to use the meth kit just for the cooling benefits?
I.e. Meth kit just using distilled water in combination with PI?

Personally i dont see a problem running just water for cooling. But then again I'm not a pro...

I think the reason why they say no meth, is that someone out in this wonder world of ours, would try 100% meth while running PI on 100% E85.

Water is for knock suppression/inner cylinder cooling while meth is there for IAT suppression and octane increase...

How do you feel the car is at high speeds with those tyres? Between 240-260?
The back of my car gets very light now that I have the Toyo T1 Sport

Krs I picked up some eth at Goldwagen on Ontdekkers. Not ideal for Midrand. Let me know if you don't come right.

285/25/ZR20Y Dunlop Sp sport maxx+ and Pirelli p zero on mine so far and feels very planted all the way up to 300- no issues at all but gonna try the yoko advan az next- I'm due for replacement. If you want to drive at higher speeds tyres are imperative to stability and that's were the high end brands produce the goods. I also have the LCI m-Perf carbon lip so perhaps that helps also. I find the front a bit darty at high speeds with headwind though even with performance splitters, maybe a slight drop in the front might solve that.

With 500+ HP hopefully if you get your fueling sorted you looking at speeds in that area regularly and above. Personally I wouldn't trust the toyo even if it doesn't break traction in low speed high torque situations. But that's just me...basics I.e. Tyres, suspension and brakes are often ignored with big power builds and that's not good when things go slightly pear shaped at speed.

The G&H Transport 135i track car has a beeeg turbo on it, just not sure if it's the N54 or N55.

Looking forward to reading up more on this build. Good luck

It is a N55, I spoke to the owner at Killarney couple of weeks back.

Spot on. Thank you.

But thats exactly what the eth will be doing with the TB injection as well as the PI. The eth will be used for its knock suppression as well as the advantages of octane increase.

thats why with the jb4 and FSB you can immediately see in dash whether meth is flowing 100%
if meth stops flowing safety kicks in car switches maps

Good news gentlemen.

I finally got my hands on a little eth. With 30% in the tank we ran the 20psi map and voilà:

There is a little room for more. But I'm not going to push it too hard until I have a Meth kit install.

Awesome power man!
Very well done.
Actually surprised that the torque is still near stock turbo figures, but where the car makes peak power is SOOOOOO much better! :praise:

I'm happy with the current torque figures. I wanted to keep it under 650nm to conserve the clutch

Does anyone have any experience with strapping a clutch. 6 puk to be specific.
