N54 Big Turbo Build

What does the rest of your mod list look like? Any supplementary cooling and fueling like WMI? If your fuel pump is struggling to run eth in concentrations of >30% it's probably wise to run some NF Ultra rather than waste your time with a 10% eth mix.

Mods besides the turbo, Big cooler, Cone intake. Single DP. Stock exhaust. CP and BOV. No meth.

Not to sure about NF, I always had better results with Eth. I may try out BP 98 and see what that does for the car.

Eth works no doubt about it, but at such a low concentration it's not providing the level of octane you should be aiming for with your new setup. It would be wiser to upgrade your inline fueling to run much more eth (and to support your port injection plans later) or run a WMI system.

NF Ultra is tried and tested and failing both suggestions above will at least sort out your octane (even if it does nothing directly for cooling). It will also give you a higher octane value than BP98 even at the lowest suggested concentration.

Going to go with Steve's Stage 3 Kit. The only problem with that kit is the Cost.
I will give NF a try and see what happens.

Yeah his high end kits are not cheap. If you're looking for a stop gap solution until you want to outlay the cash for Stage3 buying a Stage1 will at least allow you to run a decent mix of eth until then. You'll be able to sell the Stage1 kit fairly easily when the time comes to go for 3. Just a suggestion :coolShake:

My N54 comfortably runs 50% mix on race days with no issues of pressure dropping.

Slowly ramp up your eth concentration and see what you fuel system is happy with by logging.

What about Steves inline pump setup. Could get you to a 60% Eth mix

The inline pump setup can be sourced locally using walbro pump. Just still trying to source the bloody snap on connectors the BMW uses.

Hit a little stumbling block this weekend.

I changed the wastegate spring to a much stiffer spring and the car started to go beyond the boost target. Swapped out for another medium strength spring. While fitting the wastegate on I dropped the banjo bolt in the engine bay.:hammerhead:

After an hour of searching I gave up.(serves me right for working at 10pm on Valentines day)

The car is on the lift now and we will continue tuning this week.

The numbers where looking good before it failed safe into map 4.
Just under 500whp and 700nm

With the wastegate spring changed and 1/2 bottle NF ultra with 30liters fuel and stock Map sensor. Zero software tweaks to the JB or backend flash. Map5.

Almost there. New sensor should help a lot. Will throw in some eth and see if that makes a difference. Will dyno the car at Kar once I'm done tuning.
