Dont worry everyone, I am one of the cool ones.
I also am pissed off with all the speedbumps at Klapperkop.
Conserning the driver training, go on bmw.co.za, you will see right at the top there is a link to bmw driver training at Kyalami.
It costs like R800 and they give you car to use, lunch, and a certificate to get discount on your insurance with.
They disable the traction control, ebd, all the goodies by unplugging the computer.
Then they take you on the skidpan an teach you to handle the car without all the aids.
then when you can do that, they reboot the car, and make you drive to feel the difference.
I took my wife to do the course 4 years ago as a birthday present, and she still tells everyone it's the best ever.
You also dont mess up your own car.
I did the same course 11 years ago, so need to go for a refresher, but every now and then when it rains...
...well I go out and play, I know, I know, I shouldn't use the public roads for my own amusement.
You should phone me, so we can have a playdate, I stay in Rietfontein, where do you stay?

The thing is it is not about pushing my car to the limits, it is about a nice road to drive on if I've had a though day, or I just don't feel like driving between lots of traffic, traffic lights etc.
I will definitly do the driver trainig one day, and taking my car to the skidpan, as advanced control of your car is always important.

Thanks, I knew I wanted the sport seats, but I had no idea just how comfy they are and they really absorb a lot of the bumps and so on.

No problems man. I keep on finding new things to like about your car. I totally dig the extra speakers that your car has. I see an extra speaker on under the arm mirror adjustment on the armrest, prolly one on the passenger side as well. and the extra speakers on the rear door panels.

your car must sound extreme. Wish I could get a set like that. :sigh . anyways, I see that its a front loader. great stuff.

Yup it has all the speakers from the normal sound system plus the four extra under each of the door arm rests and it has two small woofers in the boot.

The sound is pretty good, but I have to be honest I have probably not had the sound system on for more than 2 min since I got the car, I rather listen to the sound system that mounted under the bonnet , I just love the sound of the BMW engines :excited:

I am not a fan of wood trim. I am sure Gizmo could source you a ally trim, or you could paint it silver, or cover it in suade like HELLAS..

Another mod I wanna do to the E46 is get a 328i shifter, which is shorter & then the E46 sportpack weighted gear knob, which is smaller & weighted...

have to agree with Andrew. Im not a big fan of the woodgrain, but its ok.

i like the carbon fibre lookalike that comes on the Individuals, though they scratch very easily (i know from experience, first day i got my car my 18month old boy decides to test the scratch resistance of the trim, and i have to say he won cos the trim didnt look so pretty afterwards).

anyways, the wood isnt so bad cos any scratches can be buffed out.

I also caught a slight glimpse, that the sound system is a HK one. great sound. I can dig what youre saying bout listening to the engine. BMW 6 cylinders sound awesome.

Replacing the trim is one of the first things I am planning to do, I was thinking either the brushed aluminium or the piano black, depending on what I can find. One of the other things is projector headlights. But these things will have to wait as I first need to get another 245 tyre fitted so that I can have proper narrows and wides.

For the moment the wood doesn't bother me to much as it is not that visible combined with the black interior, its just the camera flash that makes it look more pronounced.

Something I just noticed while driving this weekend is that PTA is really rife with speed bumps, even the road where I took these photos (the road to fort klapperkop) is now so full of speed bumps, that I havent driven it in more than a year. The one place in pretoria resembling a mountain road and they had to go and ruin it.

Careful up that mountain man. Many have been hijacked up there, and I was once almost a victim by guys pretending to be cops!!
