Did you do the oil change yourself?
I need a how to... I need to do oil on mine too.
0w40 is a good idea. Will it not be too thin though at high RPM, at high heat?
Yes did it myself. It is actually very easy to do.
You take the car for a drive until at operating temperature. Park it on a level surface and let it idle for 10m, do your oil check and shut the car off. Lift the front and take off the skid plate in front (6 bolts). Now on the front right hand side you will see the oil filter. In the middle where the gearbox sits you will find the drain hole. Open it up with a 6mm allen key and let it drain, after its drained take out the filter and let the rest of the oil drain from there as well. Replace with new filter and tighten up the drain plug (replace washers with new ones from filter). Now start putting in the new oil, i fill with 9L.
It is actually very easy to do.
As for the temps, I have had the car couple of times above 8K since and temps are better than before.

I used the liqui moly 0w40. Bought from moranor and fetch from peter. I would highly suggest this for all S85 owners.
And S65 owners. I've done LM 0W40 on mine as well, but haven't driven enough to see a difference. My main reason was to save the bearings as well, on recommendation from Peter. I can't hear anything louder on my engine though, although I read at M3post guys were saying they hear a little more engine noise using LM.
Yeah it's nothing major. Mine was in the garage packed with boxes and tools everywhere so the sound echoed a bit. Otherwise normal driving it actually sounds better.
