I will def post up a sound clip. Surprisingly this car was very soft before, you could only hear the v10 grunt on acceleration, so if this doesn't let the sound out abit I am doing the full exhaust.

heard good things about primary de cat on our cars, will do mine soon, heard its labor intensive , can imagine your impatience to get the car and the words you calling eskom .I will be manufacturing a lightened pulley for my car soon as i get a chance.its like R 6000 to buy ,it will cost me under R1000.00.

Oh please do tell more on this! I may be interested in employing your services! What are the benefits of doing this?

My car has a full catless system, but it sounds more like a big V8 than a V10, and there's a drone from the back boxes, but I live with the sound cos it's frigging wicked!

hey guys, i looked into under drive pulleys and as with most things there are good and bad reviews, so i am thinking we can manufacture our own pulley but the same size as the original , reasons been ,we can use same size belts ,easy to find, total safety because nothing is been under driven as i dont want to experiment with a 500k motor (dealer price half a million) .
there are decent power claims with this mod but realistically i would say 8 - 10 hp but im sure the fun factor will be the prize as the car will rev up faster.
All i need is a original part and i will machine it out of high grade aluminium but at the fraction of buying one,i will also make one 15% smaller provided i can get a belt and see the difference ,i understand pulleys are under driven around 30%

So we need to just find a V10 being stripped for spares. If this is the case, I'm with you Terrence, I'll do this mod.

i can also get mine out ,i hardly use my car been busy at work n stuff but will be easiest to find a lose pulley.
oh and also we hear often about sleeve which releaser bearing slides on ,they wear our quick and car give all sorts of problems,i can make a proper hardened and ground part and even if it runs dry it will function fine.

So been driving around a bit. There's a popping sound around 4K rpm which I just totally love! But also a tinny sound around the same rpm which I am not fond of at all. Overall the sound hasn't increased at idle but slightly on hard acceleration. Couldn't really gun it as I had a friend in the car that is afraif of speed.

As for the software, will give it a tank to adapt (200km) and see, but it does feel more responsive, but want to check the top speed

I also experienced a tinny sound on my e39 when we took out the cats.

Placed some 63id x 96od x 330lng free flow resonators in the place of the cats, and the sound is awesome, though subtle

So whp is 390. Thats approx a 30hp gain, which isn't bad at all.

Does this seem right?

540 flywheel hp
5000f elevation
15% drivetrain loss
, calc is
(540-(5000 x 0.03 x 540/1000))×.85
