Ok so some new events..
First, the bad...
last Saturday on my way to the airport I hit a traffic cone on the highway , doing about 100kph..
I was absolutely gutted as I left the car at the panel shop on the Monday before as I wasn't too happy with the spray work...
damage is minimal but there is a small crack on the side and the headlight nozzle cap was knocked out, if anyone knows where I can get one besides agents I would really appreciate it.
Ok now the good.. I always felt that the interior needs a little character , I do plan on wrapping the aluminium trims in gloss black or even having it covered in suede, and my LONG TERM PLAN was to get the seats re-upholstered in Red… as I always had a thing for red seats…
I Have saved up for water pump maintenance and wanted to get it done in August, but form member PLV alerted me to these red M Seats he came across for sale.
I thought about it long and hard and then my implulsive side kicked in and I went for it. ( I guess water pump needs to wait another couple of months)
So I woke up Saturday morning and did a 400km round trip to collect them, about 4 hours and a speeding ticket later I reached home and drove straight to the local car wash to give the seats some freshness as they were all dusty and dirty.
I collected them about 4pm and even though I planned to fit them Sunday I was too excited so I borrowed a friend and got cracking , seats were fitted Saturday and door cards on Sunday, I am pleased with the outcome , although I do feel my old seats were in much better overall condition (please see my for sale thread here https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=87104 )
