Thanks guys, much appreciated

After pics, This was actually week after picking it up and washing it, purely because Sbo was in Roodepoort, the drive back resulted in some bugs :smilebounce:

Washing is such a breeze, even on the wheels, which I also had ceramic coated. Drying the car is even simpler with me just having to lightly lay the waffle weave on the large panels.

No editing in these pics, i show them as crappy as i take them :biglol:

Thanks guys, it’s much appreciated. It’s by no means perfect and I try my best to keep it as good as possible.

Would love to do much more, but being a daily and getting parts and accessories are always a pain.

Thank you for kind words, there definitely are other owners, some have done more work in terms of mods as well, they just are good at hiding their gems.

Cant remember if i responded to this prior to the forum reset, but if not, i have different products including
-Auto finesse dressle
-tac systems seal
-valet pro - black to the future
-smart wax - smart dressing

I cant remember which ones i would use on which parts specifically as it normally depends on my mood.

Its been a few months since my last update, lots of things have happened, but will try to go through the timeline.

After fitting the turbo and having initial issues sorted, i was giving the car a once over and noticed a leak on the hot side boost pipe.

After getting over my initial shock on the silicon hoses were trimmed, i proceeded to remove and clean. Prior to removal, i checked how tight they were and i was surprised as to how loose it felt. I decided to mark the point it was tightened to, so that i could ensure i tighten more than it was previously. After a good chat with Danny, he assured that once cleaned and tightened they should not leak.

I believe it was more a matter of new pipes settling in than anything and a little tighter. After some cleaning and refitting, I drove the car for a couple of days, checked for leaks, and again an few weeks later and again this week and no leaks to speak of...

One of the biggest issue was the fact that the oem pipe to the EGR has a double lip on it and the t clamp is meant to be between the lips. This means that the silicon needs to be wide enough to go over the lip, but the clamp needs to be tight enough to seal the thinner part of the part.

Here as well, it just needed to settle and be tightened some more.

I have been wanting to do this 'mod' for ages and finally got around to it. I purchased rubber tiles for the garage.

First step was to remove everything, sweep wash and let dry. I chose to put some rock set in any chips or cracks that were in the floor already and after smoothing out where neccessary, dry again.

I also used some concrete sealer, which ended up having a very nice gloss finish, but due to the age of the floor and many stains, this could not have been an option.

I choose to go with the 4mm option which was fine for my needs, it has it pros and cons. Price was definitely a pro, but i felt the biggest con was being 4mm thick, leaves it more flexible than the thicker versions. Applying it, in my opinion became a little harder, the joins would not line up 100 %. A couple rows in i noticed the problem was on one edge of the tile which seemed to have a little 'extra ' that should have been trimmed as part of the manufacturing process. By extra i mean 0.5mm, but when 2 tiles with the extra bit are joining together, it created a problem. Place all tiles in the same direction, problem solved. My kids always like to involve themselves in my DIY's so please excuse them :)
