With being on leave yesterday and being bored out of my mind I decided to de cat the Diesel as it was long overdue. I came across some other minor issues which I will address soon, a bit of a boost leak on the charge pipe, rear diff mounts look a bit tired and so do the engine mounts. In the coming months I will be addressing the following.

Remove and clean intercooler
Egr delete and clean
Oil separator to be replaced
Swirl flap delete
Fix boost leak
Replace all rubber mountings , including all suspension mounts engine mounts gearbox mounts
Rear silencer delete:fencelook:

All in all I love this car and it brings me smiles every time I jump in and drive it:inlove:. I highly doubt I will do any performance mods to it in future as it already has an Ac Schnitzer chip.

Exactly that Sash! Chances are that I will keep the car till about 180 000 km so for the next 4 years but I want it to be perfect even when the new owner gets it in 4 years time lol.oh and big thanks to Andy who has been putting up with my questions over the last few months and sharing his wealth of Diesel knowledge with me.

Ok so a bit of an update, I ordered the front and rear diff bushings , rear sub frame mounts and gearbox mountings today, I inspected them last week and they are not broken however they look a bit fatigued so no harm in the fresh mountings My Cd player has hit a mid life crisis and decides to give me a random “Cd Error” every now and then so I’m contemplating replacing it with a double din unit soon. I was also meant to do the Egr delete and fix the boost leak this weekend however I was suffering with the flu so I will tackle that this coming weekend. :=):

Ok an update I did the EGR delete today and I was really surprised on the condition of it for a car with 150 xxx kms on it. the delete was really easy to do with only 1 hex screw that was a b!#c%!!! causing me to use lots of colorful words. anyway pics below.
Step 1:remove top cover and locate egr

Step2: remove the hex bolts (allow +- 30 min to remove the one on the bottom right):bangdesk:

Step 3 : remove clamp

Step 4:remove egr and clean
not as much filth as I expected to see

after cleaning

Step 5:fit egr the exact same way you removed it and black off vacuum pipe

with my ocd issues about having an oem look I used some high heat trunking to cover up the vacuum pipe

up next will be the ocv change:=): thanks for reading

oh and I used carb cleaner and steel wool to clean the insides and just wiped with a clean cloth.

just wondering..so if you do an egr delete will this stop soot from building up on the swirl flaps?... :fencelook:

i would imagine so as no more exhaust gasses will be passed into the intake:idea:

I should consider this egr delete, clean up swirl flaps and leave..as the E90's never suffered from flap swallowing and without the soot I don't think you will have a prob.. thanks for the share and pics
