Hi Guys,a buddy of mine has a problem with his C220 CDI and needs an advice. The car is mixing oil with coolant and would like to know all possible places on the engine where oil might go into the coolant as shown in the pictures below

E46 suffers from this same nonsense. Oil in the coolant is a sign of oil cooler kaput. If you have coolant in the oil (engine) then its head gasket. I would say oil cooler first. If its auto gearbox there might be a oil cooler for the gearbox also. From the pictures the oil is black so I would say engine oil cooler. If the oil was reddish I would say gearbox cooler.

They need to flush the cooling system well. On my e46 it took a while to get al the oil out. Its possible the new cooler is also stuffed or hasnt been installed properly
