Manual can also be more costly to maintain than an Auto.

You can laugh but take cars that have a lot of torque. They eat clutch.

Yup if you drive them like a chop then they will destroy a clutch.

Now explain to me how this relates to the so called costly maintenance of a manual gearbox.....

An auto box is simply an Aether medium which inexplicably transmits the torque from the engine to the diff.

Since this medium can neither be quantified nor encapsulated, I guess its also safe to assume its unbreakable. Because we all know BMW auto boxes last forever.

I have always been a fan of Manual boxes, but that being said... I think I would have to say it strongly depends on the type of car as well as it's intended application.
